Hey guys, getting my R34GTT auto converted to manual, i decided to rule out doing it with a mate, so i decided to do it at a specialist. does anyone know any good places to do it? and has anyone had any bad experiences after having a conversion done, and an approximate price would be good. just sick of having the auto and Im too attached to my car to sell it for a manual =)

Have you spent much money on the car yet?

spent about 7 grand so far. and you guys are probebly right anyway, iv been thinking about leaving it auto, and have it sit around 250kw. i think im going to buy a drift piggy instead of thee manual conversion =)

it just seems like too much trouble for little gain on my daily drive.

What do you guys do to the box to make it handle that kind of power?

I've already done the shift kit.

do you do any clutch pack etc strengthening? or just torque converter upgrade?

I've still gotta figure out how to get out to you guys to get nistune done... damn friends selling their cars and shit

we can build your auto up to handle that power.

Put a good converter in it.

    • Meh. Every single gear in my gearbox will crunch. I've been treating it nicely for >12 years now.
    • How fast are you doing the downshift? 4th gear was revised multiple times until 1998 to fix this issue. Synchro clips can fall out, synchros can wear. Most likely you're looking at a new transmission unfortunately. If you need to limp it until then double clutch downshifts into 4th.
    • Sorry I was being harsh there, but am I wrong? You can buy a M340i easily, and there's loads available second hand. A lot more workshops modifying them as well. How about getting parts for them? Don't get me wrong, I'd love a 400R, even a 4cyl (I looked at a few V36s before buying my shitbox BMW). Sadly Infiniti died in Aus and we're stuck with importing them as niche vehicles. Supply and demand
    • Probably straight swap for an R32 GT-R? lol
