either way just be aware that it will not be 100% acurate getting the reading from the hoses rather then the block, as one hose will have the radiator cooling just before the reading and the other will have the thermostat controlling the flow of coolant so will only show acurate if the thermo is open and free flowing...

just my 2 cents, as i tested this on an old car to find a blockage in the radiator or block without taking shit apart...
