Hi Paul, I have no agenda nor do I know anyone affilated with said DVD production. My comment is merely my opinion of this genre of DVD. It is also my opinion that this type of production subtley influences the way some people who watch these DVD's and drive imports act on our roads, and behave in general.

It's been a recurring theme over the last several years, guy watches someone do 200m powerskid on a runway in GTR on private track, same guy goes outside and tries to replicate same on the public road. So, is essence, I'm not attacking anyone, merely stating my belief.

Now, I know we all aren't farking tools that suffer monkey see monkey do syndrome, but alot of "us" are.

Well, see now, that's constructive criticism :D

I guess just reading your first comment it sounded a bit of a beat up, but above is a very fair point.

Anyway, don't want to turn this into a debate. Nuff said from me! :(

I see you're point paul,

However "most" people who want to advertise their product on here pay to do so, and so far the only contribution to this site I have seen from Jet200 and affiliates is a few youtube links to their product with no text attached etc

so if Mark Berry or a V8 supercar goes around a corner fast, the P-platers in their VN commodores will copy them on the road right??

Maybe it was you in the playground with the kids watching Motive DVD if you are that easily influenced.

Let me get this right. We hired a private track yet will are still a bad influence??

Better ban Formula 1, V8 supercars, Hollywood movies, Sitcoms, Home and Away and while we're at it, close all the racetracks down, they are a bad influence.

Even better, lets destroy all the cars in the world just to remove temptation.

You have obviously not watched the DVD at all and making un-educated comments so please dont bother.

To everyone else, thanks for the support. If only people knew how much time, money and effort went into it. If I was in it for the money then I would film sitcoms and gameshoww. I make these DVDs cos I'm a car nut also.

Hope everyone enjoys it when it comes out.

I filmed the R34 cruise and make more than enough mentions about the site. Have also filmed SAU events in the past while making Ignition DVD.

If you think Im not a valuable contributing member of the car scene then feel free to complain to the SAU president and I'll never film anything to do with SAU again if they agree with you.

So, can we stay on topic now please

I just picked up 002. The superlap edition. It was great.

If it werent for this "publication" I would be stuck looking at low qual little screen youtube footage to get my fix of superlap. Ill be getting number 3 and dont mind paying for it either, its a cheap fix.

For f**ks sake, Andrew don't listen to some of these knobs on here whining and bitching for no reason what so ever. Complaning about advertising, are you for real? Is this your site? Then what the f**k do you care? Andrew has done more for our scene then most of you ever will so please keep your stupid comments to yourself.

Keep the DVD's coming bud ;)

Seriously, if you can point me to other import vids that I should buy instead let me know??

True that,

DVD's like high octane, HPI, best motoring have fallen beside the waist in resent years.

Up untill ignition fell threw they were the only current motor based dvd.

hell even high octane was serposed to realese a movie NEVER HAPPEND.

For one i sport andrew and motive dvd, i have being enjoying it a lot and IMO is a lot better then what ignition was.

We're already confirmed for another GTR Challenge in 2010 on the runway and also getting some Touge battles and other make and model battles at the airport too!!

Where's you find your copy? Been going through newsagents everywhere, JB, Autobarn (They're slow as fark) with no luck. Don't like purchasing anything online, so I'll leave that as a last resort.

+1 well said, I'll be buying these as long as you make them - It's great that someone is taking their time and effort to produce something for our scene we'd all love to watch.

thanks guys

You've got my support, just reading that comment makes my mouth water - Keep em coming, can't wait!

Cheers

Steve.

If you cant find em in shops you can buy online at www.motivedvd.com

it doesnt go to JB , Autobarn etc. They are a pain to distribute through so dont bother

For Motive DVD #3 a new distribution plan is in place to make sure newsagents have it. Because its new and times a tough, some newsagents dont stock it so if you go in to one and they dont, ask them to get it in for next time.

Thanks for the support

Andrew

    • It's unfortunate what Tomei USA has done to Tomei's name in general. I'm very weary of ordering parts from them now. I only order direct from a Japanse source (e.g Nengun). At least their logos are different, so you end up knowing what you have.
    • Update Issues 5 (plus #4) - 10 After making a claim about issue #4's missing part, DeAgostini Japan sent a whole new issue #4 and it arrived about 2 weeks after that. That was back in early March. It took another 4 weeks to receive issues 5 - 13 though. This update is for issues 5 - 10. Ove the 5 issues the front left suspension and most of the engine have been completed. The quality of the castings and fit of the parts is quite good, it seems better than DeAgostini's BNR34 Skyline GT-R from the Fast & Furious 2 movie, which (to me anyway) doesn't seem to have as tight tolerances or quite as accurate castings.  Each issue has a lot of info about the 1989 - 1993 Skyline range and other Nissan models from that era, but the focus is on the BNR32 Skyline GT-R Nismo and the various racing it did in Japan, Europe (Spa 24hrs) and of course Australia. I've included some text translated with Google Lens in some photos and will add to them if there's anything worth including.
    • If it's for a SR20, make sure it's not the American Poncams, might as well call them Poocams. Had a set in a friend's car, all scuffed up after a few track days. Like the metallurgy Tomei USA used is junk. Went back to JDM OG Tomei Poncams, no issues till now.   Tomei USA is not the real OG Tomei.   Random rant over, fk the US of A, bunch of c u n t s.
    • Most of the industry in North America either runs on Siemens or Allen Bradley. I have two redundant S7-1500's on my desk right next to me for simulation. Siemens has been losing ground though since Stuxnet, as cybersecurity is a big thing. In my line of work that is federally regulated, you must by law have a cybersecurity management program in place and its audited and inspected every so often.  I work with Emerson PLC's daily (RX3i's) and have done large biogas/refinery projects with their DCS's. Their PLC's are somewhat OK minus the way they do PLC redundancy (You have to download on both PLC's separately every time you make a change )  As for their DCS's... you'll be limited financially first before anything else stops you. Costs are exorbiant at roughly 10x what it would cost you to do with any other system (e.g AB PAC).  1990's, those suckers are brand new haha! Kraft-Heinz (An old client when I use to work for an ESP) still runs Siemens TI505 PLC's from the mid 80's. Ohh how I don't miss working with those... you could only do a certain number of online downloads until it's "Change" buffer would be full and you would then need to go offline to do a full download. There was no warning of when this was coming up and it generally would happen when you would go in at 2am to make changes before production -_-.
