What brake set up did you go with George? Have you still got your Supra & a R34 GTR? Didn't you have a Pulsar or Laser as well?

I got suplied a full set of Kido racing front and rear brakes 380mm rotors for the GTR 8 pot front and 6 pot rear calipers. And yes i still have the 34 gtr and the Supra. Supra is going a ECU change as the Haltech will not give us any kind of support regarding their vvti on the 2j control and att he moment it doesnt work. So another ECU supplier is going to give us an ECU and help us make it all work.

I had a 02 Laser but that was sold two years ago, i now have a Jeep patriot and a Dodge Caliber.

^^^^ Bloody hell George! 380mm 8 pots plus 6 pots for the rears! How much power is your GTR putting out? The thing will stop on a dime! I've never even heard of Kido as a brake brand. I can't wait to see how you go on Monday.

I wish I had my GTR :D

So after going to 5 different places today and trying on lots of helmets the ones that fitted the best and were the most comfortable were the Shoei. They were also the most expensive (well the carbon fibre ones for $2500 were but I only looked at them to admire).

I can get the one I want - a 2009 model TZ-R in metallic anthracite - for $600 in town from Bills Motorcycles but I have just found a place in the USA that sells them for USD$278 or ~AUD$300. Add shipping and it will still be a lot less than $600. Will a US sourced helmet pass scrutineers? It won't have the Australian Standards sticker on the back.

no mate that wont pass scrutineering so to speak, has to have the australian standards sticker!

ill be out there taking photos, for anyone thats interested! usually do drift days, but keen for a look at some grip stuff see how i go!

Hey, what are you going to do with your old brembos? i might know someone keen on buying them!

Andrew's fastest lap at the last time attack was 1.16.30 and that was his first time out with full slicks.

i think his best time was 1:14.7 (not at TA though); for some reason the slicks actually went slower than what he'd ran before.

Yeh they are an OEM manufacturer for big name brands like Alcon AP and the rest. My GTR is currently putting out 315kw at all four wheels by the dyno read out the other day but i didnt have time to adjust the nismo fuel pump for more delivery. There is still left more in it.

And yes the stopping power is bloody amazing light touch on the pedal during daily driving and i feel like im gonna fly out the windscreen.

problem = critical parts for my car did not arrive today so i may not be ready for the trackday  unless they arrive on Monday morning and i get there late.

dilemma = do i take the daily driver out there anyway and cut some laps for fun or does someone want to take my place at this eleventh hour?

As I said via SMS, take the daily, don't be a pussy

what are you needing ?

a set of new brakepads - i had asked Endless Australia to send us a set of fronts asap and that the rears from Japan could wait until after the trackday. however, there seems to be have been some confusion somewhere along the line and i now suspect that i'm getting the fronts when the rear set arrives from Japan which looks to be AFTER the event. the ironic thing is that i'm the Endless reseller and i should have organised this a month ago. hindsight is perfect (sigh).

my advice to those who are planning mods for the Nov23 trackday is to get all the work done in the next fortnight as it's only four weeks after this trackday.

ok ok, i'll bring the daily. some track time is better than no track time at all :) otherwise people can PM me if they really want my spot ($)

it would be nice if a local dealer had race pads on the shelf for Brembo F50 brakes. can anyone get me a set by Monday?

    • So we have most the interior back in, and for the first time with one OEM speaker hooked up. The 31 is running, driving and now tunes!!! Hahaha yet another step for the sub that sat 10m under for two weeks!!! unbelievable really 👌 lots of love work and not giving up on her. Seen so many youngsters part way less, and in way better condition. I’m stubborn, thinking another problem is just a hurdle to overcome, One at a time. IMG_9277.mov
    • That is correct. I'm using a modified ABS ring and a ZF speed sensor on my rear diff for speed input. I'm running a Haltech ecu.
    • Been busy with the newborn. We originally thought we were going to go for a third, but we're good with two lol. He's starting to actually sleep now so I've had some energy to work on the car. It's been parked away in the garage since late November due to winter.  I went ahead and redid all my head oil drains. I originally had my front and rear head drain going into the same pipe but have since split them up. I also added an Ethanol content sensor to get ready to run E85 this summer. Tossed it on my return line. Sensor sits nicely under my intake manifold.    I also have a lot of parts that came in for my rear end. I'll be swapping over to a 3.3 final drive and doing the GK teck anti squat mod. While the rear subframe is off, I'll also change every bushing. We're planning on buying another house soon with the condition that I get at a minimum a 2 door garage, so I'll wait to have more room for this. Now onto the strange things that recently happened... After changing the lower rad hose (It had been sitting in my cabinet for well over a year and was the last hose I had to replace), I let the car idle in the garage to bleed my coolant. After running for a few minutes, it started missing. Got much worst within a minute or two and then stalled and would not restart. My crank sensor decided to crap itself. No damage, no explanation, just died. I went ahead and replaced it with another ZF sensor but the heavier duty stainless model with a shield. Tossed that in and started right up. Has anyone else seen this? I hate when things fail without cause. Luckily this was a blessing in disguise... This lead me to recheck my timing. It seems I may have had a beer or two the last time I had set my TDC angle as I was off exactly 5 degrees... I miscounted a line haha. I was running 5 degrees less then commanded. It's a little embarrassing but helps explain why my dyno operator seemed to think I should be making more then 478rwkws.
    • Sharing results from recent Liberty Walk R35 GTR, since they are still considered as somesort of a V36 Skyline. We do them turbos too. This are high flowed SS-1 models with ball bearing conversion done.  Car have managed to pull 485awkws @ 20Psi so far pushing limitations of factory built engine. The build list for R35 GTR enthusiasts as follow : HyperGear high flowed stock turbos in SS1 (G25-660 specs) Custom titanium intake pipes. Vspec performance titanium front pipes. Vspec performance 4" titanium exhaust. Upgrade fuel pumps. 1200cc injectors. Ignition coilpacks Hks intake plenum. Hks intercooler piping. Greddy intercooler. Greddy bovs. Top-secret coolant reservoir. Emtron ecu. Straight E85. Built gear box.
    • Nah no bearings, just slip fit.  Would be a reasonably challenging but not impossible job to modify it to run bearings but I'm hoping that's not necessary as I may have well built one myself if I end up spending hours modifying it!
