If you had given me more notice I could've grabbed a R33 GTR drivers seat for you Dave. I have a Series 3 in my driveway doing nothing but gathering dust. CBF doing it now or tomorrow morning though.

So what time are you guys leaving Villies? And is it a counter meal for lunch then - so I don't have to make sandwiches.

Well im finally packed and ready for an early start. Just gonna make some sangas and hit bed. See you guys nice and early ;) I'll try and make it to Vilis at 6.

When brake fluid goes from max to min, pretty much always mean you've cooked the pads down to the backing plate that holds the pad material in place, mine lasted 80mins of mallala abuse before I had to change them.

That was me that helped u mate. Did u get home all ok?

Was a great day out and money well spent. Can't wait to get out again. Thanks to Adrian for organising it all. Can't wait to see pics now.

. Did u get home all ok?.

hence why I had to leave when i did, city south rd traffic with backing plates for front pads..... :D

took it nice and easy; slot newies in tomorrow, and get back out there asap

Yeah awesome day! Thanks again Adrian for organising. Managed to run a 1.27.46 as per Race Chrono (unconfirmed with the video footage), so pretty happy with that. Should be a 1.25 in it with some sharpening up. Will post some vids up on youtube. Can't believe how punishing the track is on brake pads. Good work Luke (ENR_34) for helping everyone. :ninja:

Oh and nice video Lance! Love the dirt action!! :P

Awesome Day!!! Had a brilliant time. :ninja:

Thanks to Adrian (Rad32) for organising it. Thanks to Kim (V35-2005), Lance (Moodles2) & Luke (Heslo) for lending me your tools etc during the day.

Thanks to the two guys that helped me change my wheels over (I can't think of your names right now & I know that I've met one of you a couple of times - sorry).

Thanks to the Peugeot designers & mechanics from the 1980s for finally giving me something nice to say about the French. Pity about every car since...

I ended up going out for 7 sessions and reckon that I had about 30mins in total where I had the track to myself. Especially right at the end. Brilliant!

I'm pretty confident that I won the 'Most Spins' category with a grand total of 10 - although technically I didn't actually spin every time but the car did end up where it wasn't meant to.

How I hear you ask: 3 times because I was (am) an idiot and didn't warm up my tyres first hence I usually spun at the back hairpin on the first lap. It took me 3 sessions to work this out *face palm*

4 times I was pushing it about 15-20kmph faster through corners than I had done previously. I accept that. That's part of the fun.

And 3 times I just f**ked up. Wrong line, wrong speed, wrong pedal whatever. I'm sure that I provided some entertainment to the spectators. :P

Maybe I should change my user name from 'writeoff' to 'spinoff'. :D

Brendan (Tangles) - I have your helmet and will probably drop it off on Thursday if that's cool?

Someone left a hammer against the southern wall of the 1st group of sheds closest to the track. Dave's (scandyflick) car was there most of the day.

Someone else left a black funnel at the opposite end of the same shed. Above where Lance's (Moodles2) tools were.

There were also some cables ties but I'm keeping those.

I look forward to the driver training on November 23. Clearly I need it. Hopefully I'll have the GTR back by then.

PS - pity all the Jap crap out there couldn't keep going until the end of the day. :) How many casualties were there? I don't think my GTR would have survived 7 sessions & 10 spins.

    • Might be tricky matching the seat trim material  If your got the funds you "may" want to get the rear re-trimed as well to match the front
    • How much is it to re-uploster?  Well that's a "how longs a piece of string?" question !  And I answer thusly: "twice half its length! " . . . . . .  Seriously you'll have to chase multiple quotes for that one from different uphlostrerereres !  Ask around, in your area and on the forums, chase reviews and most of all see the finished product in person cause photoshop is a wonderful thing !
    • Hey everyone!!  I've noticed that whenever I do my oil changes, after putting 4L in, the oil level sits at the top mark in the dipstick. This is after letting the old oil drain for a very long time too! I've checked the oil level daily for the past few mornings. It happens every time and it's confusing because all the threads say that it should take about 4.7L (With some just adding the full 5L) My next thought is to figure out if the dipstick I have is correct so could someone please tell me the length of the RB25DET engine oil dipstick?  I've checked images of some of the genuine dipsticks, but none of them have the length in it. https://justjap.com/products/genuine-nissan-engine-oil-level-dipstick-fits-nissan-r34-skyline-c34-stagea-c35-laurel-y34-cedric-gloria-rb25de-t-neo?currency=AUD&srsltid=AfmBOortQXofgmiHVRKuIaiKuygL4k0Ewp68c3isGZk0vvKOJ7Yqf3iB However.... the engraving on the genuine ones say 05002 while mine says AA000. This makes me believe that maybe I have a wrong dipstick? I just want to confirm before I buy a new one. The car is a fresh import from Japan so I don't have details of the previous owner to ask him. Thanks in advance 🙏🏾
