Hey Guys,

As you may have know, I damaged the mesh on my old AFM

Thread:

No one knew how to repair it, so I sat down and thought, "Hey, it can't be that hard on getting mesh to replace it"

So here it is!

I was getting lunch at a Japanese supermarket in the city and got bored so I wondered around up stairs so my surprise, they had these sifting tins on sale for $2.50 which were 1. Stainless Steel 2. Made in Japan lol :)

Photos, speak for themselves!

good work.

so i guess the mesh on the afm is not removable / replaceable. the only way off is to cut it? and fitting a new one cant be done along the same lines as the original?

Glad to hear you fixed it did it make any difference to your knock readings?

You probably won't believe me, but it did, I'm not hitting into the 100s anymore, but my knock is quite high still because the car was tuned on a cold night, and driving the car on a warm day like yesterday I still get knock averages of 60~70.

I'll pulling timing off cells N12 onwards from P15 downwards.

I've done a map trace and copied all the values into an excel spreadsheet, I'm only pulling back 1~2 max.

When I did the ignition correction and pulled back 1 degree across the entire map, knock was no more than 30 all the way to redline.

I'm going to borrow my friend's Innovate LM-1 and fix up the map a bit too!

good work.

The mesh is not replaceable or removable, the mould actually goes over the mesh. Unless you can cut the mesh exactly the same and then use plastic weld, and file the the rest down then that will work, but it's too much work where as what I did will work the same and is quicker :)
