make sure you run very good engine oil. Motul 300v chrono is a must for a track day. if you don't chances are you will spin a bearing

its the old saying..."if you don't want to spin a bearing...put Motul in it!"

I would make sure your number plates are both off. I know that insurance investigators often go to trackdays armed with cameras to catch out somebody who has an incident so they cant make a claim

So are you saying that spun bearings much more likely due to oil film breakdown than oil starvation? I would have thought the reverse was the case.

One thing you might want to do is get some Redline Water Wetter. Add it to your coolant to slightly help it from boiling. It aint too expensive and works well. I'll definetely be adding it to my system every track day.

for the engine with a little blow buy the lemans.... it is the shit!( and cost the same as the chrono)

i recomen in all breathing gtr motors (high HP it would help as well i guess)

chrono for the non breathers...

on a side note spun bearings are a combo of oil level and oil temp

the motul wont fix the oil level problem(it would make it worse as it cost a bomb) but it certainly keeps it together at higher temps for constant times

Isn't Chrono abit extreme for the OP (roughly no more than 200kw with the mods listed), I'd probably recommend it for 300kw, but for a engine putting out approx 200kw a very good semi synth or a full synth (like Motul 8100) will do imo. What's the story with full synthetics, is it true they don't protect all that well after a fresh oil change, takes about 1000km before they're fully effective?

that is what is known as a 'load of shit'. Oil works best from the moment it leaves the bottle. Hell, I'm lucky to do 1000kms between oil changes. If you want a performance synth oil a bit cheaper than the 300v, Get some Royal Purple 10w40. ERD sell it for about $80 per 5l bottle I think.

thats what i was thinking..it doesn't matter if the quality of the pad is the best u can get as long as there is plenty of pad on it. it will be fine for one day at a track.

Secondly, personally I wouldn't go out on the track without some pads that at the very least are sports pads that can take a bit of heat... ie. bendix ultimates at the very least but even they are very ordinary pads.

As somebody said before, if you can't stop trust me the day will just be scary, you'll have no fun and probably crash the car.

Couldnt agree with you more. The day just gets scary and un-enjoyable when you find the car isnt stopping when you want it to. And the more you try thw worse it gets. Untill that one time... :/

I use Motul RBF 600 in my R33, and it hasnt let me down yet, even with "sport" Ferodo's on there. Have been meaning to get something a little heavier for the track.

Sorry mate just playing around, i have seen way too many blow up though.

Thats why i got an evo for track. i will be driving a 32 GTR on the day though
