Debadge And Remove Black Rails

Im thinking i want to remove the black rails that run along the middle of the doors.

Whats the best way to go about this?

Do they just pull off?

Also I want to de-badge my tailgate as well....

Would i need to buff where the badges were or just a hand polish...?

Can't comment on the rails but with the badges you can use a hairdryer and a piece of dental floss to remove them, Use Metho to get rid of the residual.

if you do a search there is a group buy on the panels to replace the rails.

err i think he has an M35 so no panel replacement. if you mean the roofrack ones?

anyway, leave it in the sun on a hot day and i bet they will peel off. and yes it will need a polish to get rid of the marks and grime that gets stuck behind the badging.

ill be doing this to mine as soon as my 'nismo' grill arrives

also, after you have removed all the bits you dont want, just take it somwhere and have them wash and polish it. they will get all the sticky bits off for you. im thinking thats what im gonna do!

Nah man, I think he means the one's that run along the lower part of the doors.

They should also just be glued on... although I do not know this for sure.

anyway, im pretty positive they are double sided taped on. anything too much stronger would damage the paint

taking of the 'Stagea' and 'nissan badge' is easy, the 'rs four' is a paint, its a different type of glue,

hair dryer and a plastic spatula. then i think i used citrus spray or eucalyptus or even tea tree oil so get the glue off. came up very nice this photo is a few days after i did it.

on M35s all the markings are badges that dont have mounting holes! lucky us!

lol he's talking about the 'bump' strips down the doors

most cars they are clipped on to the skin, so when you remove them you are left with a slight indentation in the doors and a few holes. can't comment directly on m35's though
