Crazy Idle

Hey guys ,

Every now and then when i first start my car up it idles around 1000rpm but out of no where its just decides to go up and down 500rpm.

It only happens when i first start the car up and when its sitting there. Also every now and then i when i go to rev the car slightly i press on the acelerator and the revs drop before they go up... only happens when starting the car up first time....

Any ideas guys...

Check to see if any of your vacuum hoses are cracked at the ends or disconnected.

hey man

had this problem changed everything in the end it was the cold start solienoid

located underneath your throttle its a plate thing with a line going into it and one coming out

Is there an easy way to get it out? I had a look and don't think I could see a way that didn't involve removing a lot of stuff first?

It's only held on by 2 10mm bolts and 2 hose clamps.

It's a tricky bugger to get out but if you remove the rear clamp first, then the bolts you'll have a little room to move it around to gain access to the front clamp.

There's nothing to the valve, just a little gate on the inside.
