as per subject..

Yeah...

I was just learning how to use my new camera, so the pics aren't as good as they should be :)

Anyway, here they are:

Merli how did those XR6's go around the track???

Cheers

Noticeably slower than the skylines... I was taking photos all day, and lap after lap I could see the order of cars changing that the XR6Ts were obviously getting overtaken by all the other cars...

Could just be inexperienced drivers? Or they might have been taking it easier? Too many factors to take into account really...

But yeah, they were definitely a little slower than the other cars out there, but still pretty good! (They were stock too)

from the track's point of view, the xr6 drivers were definately new to it all, but they all got progressively better and better with confidence.

they are quick down the straight though! i wasnt making any yards on them!

those are the very same simex tyres..

I had trouble trying to drift that last corner, the car just comes in and understeers or oversteers. By the time I figured it out they got shitty with me for drifting. Also took out ABS for this day... makes a big difference on track when you get used to it.

I had HEAPS of fun on the hairpin getting some very nice drifto around that, but alas the simex's are well and truely FARKED! I had no traction out there so drift was the only option. I think I will have to sit out on the next track day to get the tyre situation sorted.

Franky has video of me sideways up the top of the track, so I cant wait to see that.

yeah tell me about it. I dont think I have ever laughed so hard, especially when we headed down the straight and saw the guy fingering the red flag.

Very funny stuff.

Or when you were being a total maniac by drifting and doing helis all over then track...then the guy in front gets red flagged!!! LOL!!! what a classic!! I'm sorry, but it was so worth killing your brakes and tyres over

    • Excuse me for butting in....but which part of ADHD can be considered a superpower? I would have though it far more likely that some ASD comorbidity is more likely to be contributing to an ability to hyperfocus on something. ADHD being aimed somewhat in the other direction. My shed looks like your shed. My whiteboard list of unfinished projects has entries going back 15 years. I know what you're talking about - I just struggle to connect ADHD to the results being discussed.
    • Thanks for reaching out!  It's a blessing and a curse at the same time.  I'm undiagnosed but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see it in me... I have more half started projects laying around my house, shed, garden, etc taking up space and money, destroying aesthetics than if I added up all of my mates projects together. But, ADHD gives me the ability to hyper focus on things that no mere mortal could even  comprehend.  A recent pool build is an example of that....  I dont know anyone else that would be dumb enough and focused enough to take on then complete something of that magnitude. I call ADHD a superpower but it can equally be completely destructive if not controlled and focusedon the right places. Addiction is a major concern to ADHD people and thankfully my addictions have been no worse than projects, XBOX, chocolate and being an arsehole! It's often hereditary and my 13 year old son is currently learning how to drive it at the moment. Keep lurking! If i can finally finish this bloody thing at some point it will be a win for all of us ADHD'ers! 🤪
    • I've been quietly following this thread for ages, but this one got me. Since my ADHD diagnosis (and associated learnings and prescription) I'm way less inclined to wade into forum yarns when there are better things to do with my time, as half the time I'd end up in some kind of forum debate even if that wasn't my intention. I've not lost the ADHD "superpowers", just am a lot better at directing my hyperfocus into slightly more constructive things, but haven't stopped quietly lurking in here in my spare time.
    • Stripped the tank down and gave it a good scrub. It came up really good! Not sure if I'll just put it back in like that or give it a blackening treatment (such as Bowdens The Black Box). That might give it a matte look so might just run it as is.
    • @MBS206 Ha ha, yeah ADHD is a daily battle to not get drawn in to doing things you want to do that you know you shouldn't do!  Every single time I walk into my shed I end up doing something I started the day having zero intention of doing! I keep mentioning the 1 step forward, 3 steps back scenario and I'm tipping people that are blessed with ADHD (yes, blessed) are the worst at that!
