my car has been at this compliance place in SA for about 2-3 weeks now ... and they have yet to get the car compliance done ... and they keep saying that the compliance plates have yet come in from canberra for the car ... ;) you know those green plates they stick under the hood ... from ur experience how long does it usually take to get the plates in?? and how long does the process usually take from the day the car comes into australia??

thanks

Getting the plate has nothing to do with doing the work.

If they are a VICCAA member, they can apply for the plate when the car comes into the shop.

If they aren't, the work usually has to be done and signed off by the engineer before the plate can be applied for.Either way , they can do the belts, cat, repeaters, brake light etc whenever, they don't need the plate to start the work
