Usual sutff - bushes, paint cracking, interior wear etc. Best to get an RAA mechanic to do the once over if you're not mechanically inclined...

On the other hand, I know RubyRS4 has a 4 door r33 that hes looking to sell once he gets his Stag back on the road - send him a message - private sales are always better deals than import yards or dealerships

-D

Just look for the usual things when buying a car, ie look for signs of abuse smoky turbo, smoky engine ,accidents check all service history, does the miles tally up with the wear and tear of the car etc etc...

Well Paul

I would be looking in the engine bay for wires, make sure they are neat and tidy, nothing has been chopped and rushed in there. Then i would be looking for grease, oil leaks etc, power steering leaks are common on 33's.....make sure it has a reo support bar....do the normal check of lights, washer jets, make sure the Ariel goes up and down....boot latch works, fuel lid opens up properly....take a look in the boot and nothing has been chopped up etc.....look under the car for worn bushes suspension components....

after you have done all of that start it up...take it for a nice drive make sure no wierd noises coming from the engine bay etc......take a look at brake rotors and make sure they are not warped etc....after that it should give you an idea about the car etc etc...

happy hunting

PS i think WLD MAN off here is selling his Black R33....so i would be PMing him first as he has just come off a defect etc.....so the car is relatively stock and regency approved.....

when i bought mine the only things wrong were the susepension was had it (could tell by leaking), also check for missing paint on engine as it can be an indicator that the car has had a hard life. I would also recommend making sure the gearbox is in good condition, try a few 'spirited' changes to make sure everything is smooth and not too crunchy. Most importantly take it for a good drive, to sus out any problems and get it check over by the RAA or someone who is a mechanically minded if you are not. happy hunting.

hey cheers for the response guys, i think i'm somewhat mechanically minded was just seeing if there were common things that go wrong in them to keep an extra watchful eye out for, also with the RAA check a bunch of my mates are mechanics so i'll def be getting them to give it a look over take it into their workshop and get it in the air, and dohmar as good as it sounds i think i'd stick with a 2 door got my eye on a couple of cars at the moment.

Thanks guys

Paul.

i'd just look for an R34.
or maybe a magna or a CBR, and hang around a nissan forum like a bad smell

Kzing.....

you can pick up 33's for around 10-13K and 34's for around 13-17K so there is a pretty big price difference....IMHO 33's look better.....

*puts flamesuit on*

no way  , 32's look the best, then 34's and then 33's etc.

me and my mate have been hunting for a 33 for the last month and only just picked one up yesterday. i cant tell you how many shitbox 33's there are out there where people try and bullshit you into thinking their good.

look at the seal panels and chassis rails under the car, if their good then check for leaks. take it for a spin and then check for leaks again. we found that a few 33's would start dripping oil from the rocker cover near the turbo and from near the steering rack was another biggy on quite a few we looked at.

have fun, we did haha

aww no what one did you and ya mate pick up? lol fingers crossed it wasnt one i was looking at lol
