Why would you bother with an L20ET?

Just bung in an L28E and associated turbo gear (yank ebay would be your friend for stuff like L28ET manifold and injectors, afm, ecu etc). Will end up about 1,000,000,000,000x better off than modding the L20. Simple maths, 40% more capacity is going to make a massive difference.

L28ET & L20ET exhaust manifolds are the same. If I was going into a rebuild like this again, I would be using an L24E block, bore it 1.0mm (.040) oversize, L20B pistons and go from there. The L28E conversion is a bit tricky and sometimes a pain in the ass, for the advantages you get.

Decide first what your going to do with the car before going crazy with the engine.

Cheers, D

^agree!

keep an eye out for an L26, grab the crank and rods (basicly a stroker kit!)

find an L28e intake manifold (flows better than the L20et, simpler too)

find a L24e

( cheap as chips, find another wreck R30, series 1 has E88 head, better for turbo)

rebuilt VG30 turbo, pretty much the size matching is the hard part.

Kelford Cams in NZ have some good turbo grinds, like a 256 duration turbo grind, free shipping to Aus too.

Hose tail injectors, VL turbo are 270cc or so, L28et same, just harder to find.

KA24e Throttle body, in the Ti fwd Pintara, efi 2.4 navara, ford corsair ghia 2.4 (ita 60mm DIA)

a throttle body space is required to keep the stock linkages. im looking at converting to cable though

You is a bit too late Mr MAG's & some of your info is wrong.

L28et injectors are 285cc & FJ20et are 375cc, both hose tail connection.

And they eazy to find .................... just gotta know where to look lol
