I have two sets of AVS rims, both the same sizes.

One set of gold AVS Model 6 wheels (latest style), and a set of silver Model 5 wheels (older style).

Im looking at selling one set now, and leaving the other set on the car for when i sell the car next year. So wanting to know what rim has the broadest appeal so that i can leave them on the car for when i sell it.

Thoughts ppl? I dont have a digi cam so these photos courtesy of other ppl are the best i can do.

Gold Model 6

Silver Model 5

I like the silver ones better myself.  I think they give it a classier look whereas the gold ones look more like you're out to do some bruising.

Just my humble opinion.

Actually, I prefer the gold ones, but wouldn't you get more selling them seperately then with the car?

Hey Roy,

Keep your model6's cause they're the same as mine! Look much better than the 5's. Looking at the pic they look like 17's? If you were to sell them seperately you'd get alot more for them. I bought mine 2nd hand and they were NOT cheap!

Also, whats the width of your goldies?

P.S: Sorry for bothering you about the intercooler last fortnight, i got it all sorted ;)

Fronts are 17 x7, rears 17 x 8. They are a good fit on an R32 GSTt, i imagine your 200SX could swallow a much bigger wheel ;)

I like both, though i suspect my Model 6s would look better if they were white against the silver bodywork...no need to apologise, wasnt any trouble, good to hear you got the problem sorted.

heeey that's my pic! :D

y'know, if you'd just showed pics of 2 types of rims, i would have said the silver ones straight away. But on your car, i like the gold ones...they actually made me think how nice your car looked, instead of it looking the same as every other silver R32 :)

    • It just occurred to me. The way I am asking for increasing bite as I slow down (ie more bite the more time on the brakes), that is actually sounding like less initial bite, and hence the bite would feel to increase.

    • Sorry, I must've not been clear enough. On my 350GT, the pads originally on the car created dust to high heaven, and did not squeal at any time. I got new low dust pads, that created absolutely NO visible dust, that squealed when cold.  It wasn't  the initial bite, so much as an increase in braking, without extra brake pedal pressure, during a single brake instance. I had to lift off a little as my speed decreased to zero. Loved it! Now on my 370GT, I have to press a little harder as I approach zero. Not hard, just harder. I am too lazy and live in a city block with no room or tools to do it myself, so I would be paying someone to do the switch I looked at the three offerings by Intima, and one of them had a Features line that caught my eye. "Strong initial bite with continual rising coefficient". The problem is that this is on their "Trackday, Time Attack, Sprint" pads, not their day-to-day pads. Its possible that JAX installed track day pads on my 350GT, I just don't know. But I was pretty clear I did not track the car and drove the streets pretty gently. https://intimabrakes.com.au/home-corporate/intima-rr/ I'll send them an email and also check if other pads purport that behaviour.
