the only advice ill give on this matter is, Find one you feel 100% comfortable that they know what you want and how much your spending. companys that won't hide things on you (ie. small F&^% up's on your car that they dont bother to tell you)

When i imported my old 180 through a company, they were all good with the handling the money side of things, but when it came to viewing the car for myself, it had cracked dash, door seals siliconed back into place with major spillage of silicon around the area. superglue of some sort on the stereo surround.

If a company isn't willing to give you full details then it isn't worth importing through them.

Contact the ones you've read good feedback on from independent sources, then select the one who makes you feel the most comfortable about trusting your hard earned cash with them. Don't just pick on whoever offers you the lowest price - estimates are like government tenders :P

FireWire transmits the HDV recorded on your tape, and is the way to transfer taped recordings. No quality difference from the original footage (unless you set your camera to output DV instead of HDV via FireWire). I am reasonably sure about this, but not 100%. I admit that the technology is still rather new to me, and I haven't worked with it much.

This thread should clear things up a bit:

If you capture to your computer via HDMI, DIRECTLY from the CAMERA (i.e. live, not taped), the quality will be better. Once it's on the tape, though, it's HDV, and that's the same whether FireWire or HDMI.

Of course, in order to do that, you'd need a way to get HDMI IN on your comptuer. That thread explains.

Thanks

I have imported my car thru a compliance work shop :P

Many members on here have got their cars thru SSPI also (www.sspi.com.au)

Be sure to give Bettina a call.

Cant go wrong with a compliance work shop.
