I am considering purchasing an R32 GTR and was wondering where is the first place to start looking for extra horse power ?

Having owner WRX's in the past and having modified them somewhat I was anticpating increaseing boost levels.

What level of boost will the car take in standard trim ?

Additionally I would love to know what level of boost the car woud take when fitted with Aftermarket intercooler and exhaust ?

HELP !!!!!

A good exhaust, filters, cam gears, 14psi and tune will get you around 220-240kws at the wheels depending on condition/age of engine.

No need for new cooler, the std cooler is good ebough even with upgraded turbos. Clutch may need attention though. Typically 14-15psi is what ppl ask of the std turbos, but age and maintenance history of car plays a part just as it does on any 2nd hand turbo car.

Cam sprockets (or Cam gears) attach to the front of the cams and allow the cams to be adjusted. Expect to pay around $250-$300 each for both intake and exhaust cam sprockets.

You can get 14-15 psi by removing the little boost restrictor olive in GTRs, cost =$0 and is incredibly easy to do.

Hey,

I bought a totally stock R32 GTR early this year and here's a few things I did with mine..

Dyno'd just after i bought it - 165kw's at all fours.

With HKS Front pipes, TRUST cat back exhaust system, Apexi pod filters and the $0 mod..removing the boost restrictor olive, running 13psi it made - 190kw's at all fours. Everything else standard

Cheers

Jono

definately start with the exhaust and then get POD filters. run 1 bar through the turbo's and you should have a decent amount of power.

Personally I would do that, then cooler and an ECU and have it re-tuned to see what kind of power she makes.

I would be very interested in the motors capabilities with "breathe easier" mods if you know what I'm trying to say
