Extra vigilance on your rides O'night

Police will be crawling over Southside at night.

Todays Canberra Times

ACT Police have warned Tuggeranong residents to secure their cars after dark following a spate of arson attacks in the suburbs of Bonython and Chisholm on Thursday night destroyed three cars and damaged a playground.

Richardson resident Kelly Wards, whose father's car was torched in her front garden, said her brother was woken by a loud noise about 1am and saw the car on fire. The fire brigade arrived within minutes.

Ms Wards, who had extended family visiting and several cars parked outside her house, said a neighbour's car was also stolen and set on fire in a nearby street.

Although the children found the night exciting, Ms Wards said the adults in the house were quite worried.

''We are all on edge ... I am nervous [and] wound up, scared they will come back, that something else is going to happen,'' she said. Another resident said,''I heard the loud bang, my husband went outside and saw the flames [and] he saw three teenagers running away.''

wow....I'm tempted to start going back to the old way I'd spend my weekend evenings - walking around for the hell of walking around - only this time with an objective to f**king hurt some little rats.

    • I’ve been considering one of these screens too, but I've heard mixed reviews about the software responsiveness. Some say it's great, while others mention lag issues. Before pulling the trigger, I'd check out a few recent user experiences to see if the latest models have improved.
    • Kaizo Industries put a VIN plate over where the Nissan plate would go. It was part of how they broke the law and attracted feds going after them.
    • Reasonably hard, although I haven't run it with the new Endless setup yet. The old brakes were F50's on 335mm rotors and the car did a 1:40.6 at Phillip Island which is a reasonable time, I'm seeing high 600s on the temperature paint. A guy I know ran the Endless fluid at WTAC without issues and he was doing 1:33's I think (Evo) with a 355/332 setup. I don't get out to the track as much as I'd like but we put the car on the hoist and spanner check every bolt and re-paint mark everything, bleed the brakes, change the fuel, check the coolant system and re-bleed blah blah blah before every event. Motorsport is expensive, RB's are expensive so a couple of hours before an event is time well spent. It's also a net time saving because if you can keep your RB from self destructing it saves you time in the long term!
    • Welcome Alice......hope you have a bit more luck from here on! What was done in the build?
    • Hello! I'm new here, I have an R33 GTST that is currently being finished up! Last year was pretty rough, blew two stock turbos so I decided to build the car. Has been down since November, but I get it back next weekend!
