Dale, I was coughing at Majanal - not you - because Maj should know that the next SAU skidpan day is the 12th (cause he is the SAU events co-ordinator :bonk: - there is one on the 13th too !

The one on the 12th is part of Advanced Driver training and is Instructor Led - 4 hours - about 12 cars

The one on the 13th has been organised by an SAU Forum member (Oz GTR97V) there will be instructors there on the day , i believe - but is not instructor let - approx 50 cars or so - 8 hours.

Either would be good value - You would learn lots !

Aight thanks for clearing that up mate!

Which do you think would benefit me most? I'm gona be in a BMW 318i RWD 1.9L unmodded and i currently have my Ps and havent driven on any skid pans before and dont know how to drift etc?

They are both approx the same cost so whichever would be better so i dont get in peoples way etc etc :D

I'd say the driver training day will be more structured and have closer feedback. You'd do well to do that and also do Aaron's stage 1 day at a later date - I've been driving for ~5-6 years and I still got a lot out of stage 1. But either day will give you the opportunity to get out and see what your car does.

Hi,

I went on a driving course recently to help me get the most of of my 200SX (S15). It was great, some parts of it were for 'P Platers' with wet weather skills..etc for inexperienced drivers but it let me push my car to the max on the Oran Park track, swing the tail out and learn how to bring it back in in a safe area, better cornering skills and Apex and best turning methods...also how to handle high speed driving!

Great course, took 1 day and was $275.

Take a look @ : http://www.finlays.com.au/pages/carcontrol.html

The Instructor used to be in car racing but he's a bid of a 'Dad' and shakes your head when you take off real quick..etc but he's very smart and instructors get into your car, watch you drive and give you tips and then take your car for a drive while you are in the passenger seat and show you how you should do things...very good!
