Hi all,

Just thought i would let people know about the open night that will take place at Wholesale Suspension Penrith on the 23rd of this month 7pm.

Its basically a night of suspension discussion and some alignment demos. If you are planning on upgrades or full alignments for your street car or race car, the night will give you a good insight into what direction to take when it comes to parts and suspension settings.

There will be a few nice cars in attendance including a R35GTR or two (and my R33 :) )

A free BBQ will also be supplied.

Wholesale Suspension Penrith is located at:

129 Coreen Avenue, Penrith NSW 2750 (off the Northern Rd)

See you there :)

Hehe...

My Forester MY06XT is due to get a new 22mm rear sway bar put on in 2 days time thru W/S Suspension...

except that it just got rear-ended 2.5 hours ago > even suffered a stiff neck > got an Event No. from Police.

Going to sleepzzzzzzzzzzzzz

NOOO Terry..

You ok? hows the car looking? I hope its not written off you just got the darn thing.

Hope its nothing serious on your end..

David

Many thanks for concern David > you're Gold!

Rang Penrith W/S Susp'n today to postpone the Whiteline bar & H/D Mounts & Endlinks install till the XT is out of the panelbeater's.

Neck is still stiff but not as bad as last night. Must have had a good dream and no nightmares haha

Panelbeater is quoting New bar, Bever panel, Tow bar mount perhaps.

She's a manager of IGA getting off work and she's most apologetic saying, "Sorry I didn't see you"! And I'd been waiting at the intersection to turn right for 15 sec, then she climbs up the back of me...wtf

Anyways, had worse happen to me in this life!

Might rock up at Penrith W/S Susp'n on Wed 23rd at 7 for 15 mins. or so...

Sorry to hear Terry!

My car should be there soon to get a few things done, been so busy lately should have been done ages ago.

22mm rear sway bar

24mm front sway bar

Bushes front and rear

Rear camber kit (maybe aftermarket LCAs and UCAs)

Full coilover adjustment (height, damper etc)

Full alignment

Not sure if they corner weight, might have to ask about that :P

Thanks for your concerns Dave...

And you David...

Did I see you going up north for some easy cash???

Is that why you've been working on your suspension lately???

Couldn't you have picked a less LAIRY car??? :P

head down for sure. I might make the 800metre journey and come down too

They've got a massive work shop and know their stuff. They're who I throw all my suspension questions to and they've always got an answer.

jeez penrith store seams like a complete contrast to the blacktown store

at the blacktown store when there were no off the shelf springs for my R31 wagon they offered to cut down some cortina springs, sound fine until they told me the spring rates were 10kg WTF.

might have to pop in and see whats going on.

cheers

elliot

    • As a general rule removing rubber fuel hose is so difficult I would replace it if it hasn't been done in the last 5 years. The risk you damage the liner or one of the inner layers is pretty high if it's not almost brand new. BMW's recommendations around coolant hoses is similar. My R33's fuel hoses at the fuel tank were so perished that they were ready to burst FYI.
    • Ah yep, will do. Cheers!
    • Yes. It's either "2 wires", or 1 wire, depending on how you look at it. It is the connection that ties the battery -ve to both the chassis and the engine. Every electron that goes in or out of the battery goes through those 2 small spots (on the inner guard and on the engine block). If those are not clean and tight, then shit starts to suffer. Yeah, but measure it again cold in the morning, after it has had hours to rest. You can't usefully test the charge state of a battery immediately after it has been running because the alternator puts a surface charge onto the plates that takes a while to soak in and balance out. It will always read higher, and potentially look properly healthy, when fresh off of charge. But hours later it can look a lot less healthy. It's also worth measuring the battery voltage while cranking, although this can be difficult with a typical DMM because the screem update rate is so slow on most of them. An analogue voltmeter is actually a better tool for that. If the voltage drops too far while cranking, it is a sign of a poor battery. Although I don't think we're necessarily looking for a weak battery here - just wanting to exclude it.

Great event last year and hoping for the same this year.  Discounted tickets 20% off for their various tickets until the 3rd of Feb Monday. Drags, show and shine etc.  I've emailed them to ask to set a location aside for the Stageas for the show and shine - they are happy to do so if we can get them numbers, I'm happy to keep track of that. Entering as Nismo category.  I'll be road tripping up from Melbourne, would be cool to convey if people are interested, maybe there is SAU convoys from each capital? If you have ideas about that let me know.  https://gtrfestival.com.au
