Hey guys I have searched a bit but can't find a definitive answer on what I might need to replace. My 32's heater works quite well and a/c works when it wants to but a major problem I have is the air only blows to the face vents and not feet or demister, this is pretty annoying when its foggy!! Can anyone advise what I need to replace/fix and what it might look like? I've checked out under the dash but not really sure what's going on :s

cheers

hya mate iv got the same problem in ma 180. found out whats causing it and the motor that switches between vents is nakerd so iv just manually put mine to demist. if you cant find the motor then stick ya hand behind where ya stereo and shit is and there should be a couple of metal rods that go towards the motor (there only thin) and follow them down from and it should lead ya to the motor

also should add when I turn the car on and drive it automatically blows ambient temp air through the vents and i always have to press the recirculate button on climate control to stop is this normal?

Quite normal I believe

Oh damn my temp setting used to reset (and clock too) until I replaced a blown fuse. It now remembers temp setting but recirc needs to be turned on every time I start the car. Does anyone have a pic of the heater box I think its called? I'm kinda sure this is what needs to be replaced, is this the unit that moves the air from feet/face/etc?

stick your head under the drivers side (down in the foot well, then look up and left when your head is down there behind the sereo) and get someone/or yourself to cycle through the modes (ie. face, face feet, windscreen etc etc) you'll notice a white arm moving or not moving. this is what makes the air change direction. if its not moving, you might find that the plastic teeth on one of the plastic cogs has warn out, try sourcing one from a wreckers, or speak to nissan again (even by taking the piece into nissan spares so you can show them exactly what you want)
