As the title says, I need some assistance with a matter.

As it grows ever closer to my car NEEDING to be registered in my name, I need to get an inspection done. What I would really appreciate would be an older (see: more mature) member of the community to essentially take my car to the inspection. I'm sure those who read this will understand why I'm looking for an older person to do it for me, thought if you have friends that can do the inspection, feel free to throw your hand up as I'd very much like any help possible.

I've taken the course of asking for some help on the forums, rather than directly approaching a few people that came into my mind from these forums, as I'd rather not be a pest :P

The time would obviously be one that works best for you, location would be either Lanyon, Kambah (near village), or Mawson as suggested by another member. If anyone has another place they'd suggest due to possible leniency, please don't hesitate to PM me.

As for repayment for your time, name your currency and a price, I'm over 18, and happy to spend moolah to get this car in my name.

0431391359 is the number, or PM me 'til your heart's content.

Thanks heaps to those who can help out in any way :P

PS: No, I'm not asking you to do anything illegal, just take my car to a vehicle inspection the same way I would.

What mods do you have? (I know you've probably told me but I cant remember :P )

You might have to go over Dickson... I asked at Kambah and he didn't want to do it, even though I only have a small amount of mods.

mods that need an engineers certificate (ie, has to go over Dickson)

-Coilovers

-More than one intake mod (mods include pod filter, intercooler etc. they are usualy leanient on this one)

-Aftermarket turbos (an emmisions test is also required)

-Aftermarket wastegates and blowoff valves

-Engine swap (not to another RB25DET in this case but if you have a 25/30 or something)

-wheels that are drastically different to stock (ie track and rolling diameter has to be withing the ADR guidelines for modifications)

There may well be other but these are the only ones that applies to my car at the time

if you dont have any of the aboves then you should be right. I had coilovers and thus had to get an engineers certificate. cost $500-600

You asked the Kambah place near the highschool lol, I called the one near woolies etc.

And dodge in what way? haha

Older ppl are seen in a much different light when they roll up in a performance car, than a 21 year old.

They're often seen as enthusiasts, rather than hoons, which some ppl may not feel the need to be so harsh towards when doing the vehicle inspection.

i was joking about this sounding dodge :P

my dad took my car over dickson and they didnt even give the car a second look. mind you it had the pea shooter muffler, tiny wheels and tyres and the ride height of a four wheel drive but thats not the point :P

If it's alredy registerd in the ACT, has no/minimal mods then I'd suggest Lanyon. Make sure it's clean. RWC Cost is $56.

I'm pretty sure he is unbiased on age. However, Let me know if your stuck and I'll drop it down to him.

Cheers

oh cool I didnt realise you'd already called them... thought you might have been planning on just rocking up and I was just sayin they might tell you to piss off and go to Dickson :P

Way back when I bought my first R33 into the ACT the rules were that any car bought privately from interstate had to go though Dickson, no exceptions. From memory, it was something to do with requiring an identity check that only Dickson could do.

Don't know if that's your circumstances, or if the rules have changed, but I guess you'll find out when you try to book it in somewhere.

I have a set of stock R33 wheels and tyres if for some reason you need to borrow them :)

Just had a rego inspection for my subie done at Kambah even though it came from Victoria. I do however had a vehicle ID check booked in at Dickson this Wednesday. So from what I can see, you can get rego inspection anywhere (provided its unmodified etc) and only need an ID check to be done at Dickson.

That sounds about right, I probably just went through Dickson to get it all over and done with in one hit. My 33 was bog stock though, so it was no big deal, they only picked up on a rooted castor rod bush which needed replacing anyway.

I would have agreed Shell but after many countless hours arguing with Dickson / Canberra Connect they kept waving the following in my face:

Which vehicles require a Vehicle Identity Inspection?

An identity inspection will be required if your vehicle is used, less than or equal to 10 years old and/OR fits one of the following categories.

1. Is an interstate registered vehicle being registered in a different name in the ACT;

2. You do not have any documentation for the vehicle to establish its history;

3. Your vehicle does not have clear identifiers such as the vehicle identification number (VIN) or engine number;

4. Your vehicle has been declared a repairable write off

wells thats weird then :P

if you read the 2 PDF's here it only has the Identity Check stuff on the 'less than 10 years' one:

http://www.rego.act.gov.au/registrations/r...ginterstate.htm

And I didnt need one when I took the R34 over a few weeks ago (1998 model)...

I agree with you on those links Shell. Dickson / Canberra Connect kept providing me this link:

LOL the car is still in my name Troy?

Goodluck mate as I said here mate it went over the pits here and passed with flying colours ofcourse. ACT is a different type of anal rape all together.

Yeah man, lol. Although it's recognised as my responsibility of course :P

And yeah, some of the things the car has no problems with in QLD, Canberra is like WAAAAAA NO U CANT DO THAT WAAAAAA

Interesting. With my last Skyline ('97 R33) I took it to Dickson for RWC, and they never mentioned anything about an identity check needing to be done also.
