I like the Fish market, but you need to get up early to see it though. (5-6am ish and it's not open on Wednesday)

Asakusa and Senso-Ji temple are cool as well, and very easy to get too. Odaiba has a Sega game place.

Nissan Gallery is easy to find in Ginza, and worth a visit. And i have a soft spot for Shinjuku and Shibuya.

The above is kinda touristy stuff though... but it's what i liked to see when I've been.

Oh and if your in Tokyo on a Sunday, Harajuku is ACE...soooo many Short Shorts :D

ok, spend one day travelling around on the yamanote line. go to harajuku and go to the meiji-jinguemae shrine which is right next to the station. it's one of my favourite places in tokyo, very tranquil and good for the soul. then maybe walk down through harajuku and omote sando and do some shopping, check out kiddy land if you want some stuffed toys for your gf, have some lunch, then head to ebisu station and check out ebisu and the beer museum there, then by now afternoon head to shinjuku. marvel at the foot traffic at the east exit. busiest train station in the world. if you want any electronics, camera gear etc get it hear from yodabashi or sakuraya, cheaper than akihabara in my experience, check out shonben yokocho (piss alley) near west exit and get some yakitori and beer there. it's pretty cool though most places in there now are run by koreans masquerading as japanese for tourists. d'oh! then finish the night off in roppongi. get the tokyo metro there from shinjuku. hit some bars first, try heartland bar to see where super cool american investment bankers etc go for after work drinks, then head to TGI Fridays for a snack, before hitting some clubs (and there are many in roppongi). check out Don Quijote aka donki in roppongi too, try to get there around midnight for the fish feeding. it's pretty out there, they feed small pet size goldfish to the giant koi! if you get to roppongi early enough, or go there twice also head down to tokyo tower and check out the view.

day 2 sleep in, you will need to. if there are any tours you want to do, do them today. otherwise I would head to akihabara for a browse around and lunch/snack in a maid cafe. very unique japanese. try and eat as much japanese food as you can. it's tough in 3 days, as you only have so many meals to pack in. don't waste any of them on macdonalds, but if you must at least get an ebi fillet o (prawn burger) or a terriyaki burger, or if you just have burger hunger find a MOS burger. you should be trying a ramen bar (get some nice miso ramen, shio ramen, negi ramen the list is endless and some gyoza and a beer) also try a tempura-ya (specialist tempura place), try a shabu-shabu place or yakiniku (both favourites of mine). if you want to do some car stuff do it on day 2, go to a super autobacs or nismo omori, or nissan gallery in ginza, check out ginza anyway. finish off this night with a nice dinner somewhere (maybe try a top shelf sushi place) and then head to the Shinjuku Park Hyatt for either peak bar or new york bar. amazing views from either one, new york bar is a little higher and was the bar in lost in translation, but I prefer the rice snacks at the peak lounge. whichever one you go to make sure you get the whiskey sampler. you get 3 high quality japanese whiskeys from different regions all matched with spring water from the same region and paired with a unique japanese snack. very nice.

day 3 get up at like 4am to get out to the tsukiji fish market early enough. you really do want to get there at or before 5. then maybe re-visit any places you really want to go back to, do some last minute shopping and that's about all I can pack into a 3 day trip. :)

You need more days!

I've just spend a good part of a week in Tokyo and it still wasn't enough.

I'm in Nagoya at the moment but traveling down south for a week and then back up to Tokyo.

If only I had another week off

Find a decent nomi tabi hodai (min all you can drink and eat for 2hrs) I like 3hr ones personally.

After being well lubricated its off to a few hostess bars. Shop around and you can find some good deals. Usually ¥5000 will get you an hr of booze and female fun.

Then its off to kyabbakura where still the liquid flows and the slap and tickle geys a bit more sleazy !!

Then go for a wander and check out some crazy clubs, dont go where the gaijins go ! Experiment and go party with the japanese.

If your in the right place in Tokyo you should easilly kill 3 days.

What else is there to see but beer, candty ,neer and more candy!!

Do the touro thing...baa humbug!!

I went the to the Imperial Palace last year. You get to walk around the grounds, have a look at some histor, antiques and some royal handycrafts...Nice architecture to photograph, a relaxing 2hr break from the rest of Tokyo.

Like the rest of Tokyo the train or the underground is convenient.

Definatly have to do Asakusa the shopping there in the little markets at the temple is great..

Great food in Ginza.

Have to check out the model shops in Akihabra.. I bought 2 Group A's for half the price back in aus.

The electronics stuff arent too great price wise. Theres not a greal deal in difference. But you will see some great stuff.. Check out Bic Camera while you are there they do duty Free and you will get the song stuck in your head.. and have lunch at MOS burger.. yum yum!!!

So far I'm prefering Tokyo of my Trip but I have seen quite some good cars here in Osaka today.

There's a nice NUR sitting downstairs in our hotel.. *drools* and saw a R35 down a few suburbs over :)

The view from the New york bar and grill...

And the Bar itself...

The New York Bar and Grill has a cover charge after 8pm... 2000yen, per person.

Awesome place there! Did they have a Jazz or live set playing when you were there?

I kepted on thinking that Bill Murry and Scarlett Johansson would come out any minute as I was sitting there having one of those cocktails.... lol

The tea bar place is not too bad too and no cover charge if anyone is not interested in paying the 2000Yen cover charge at NY Bar/Grill.

But slightly more dearer drinks.

Yeah there was a live jazz set playing. The GF is a huge fan of 'Lost in Translation', so i booked 2 nights at the Park Hyatt for her.

Got it for $500 AUD a night!, and the day we checked in was here birthday, so we got a free upgrade to a bigger room on the 51st floor. :P

Staying there was awesome...i will stay there again defiantly!! :bunny:

hahah yeah i read a book once that explained roppongi is basically the sex / club / hostess club part of tokyo... and the nigerians are relentless at getting you into their "free" club and the tricks they use on tourists, sounds interesting!!!!

this is a fun thread to read - never been to japan...

sounds fascinating though =)
