i love cops,

ive changed just about every thing on my 33 from body to engine, turbo to seat belts every thing is after market and it is fully engineered and ligit.

however i still got defected for the pod filter even tho it was in a fully sealed after market box. and over the whole car he could only get me for being 5mm (yes 5mm) to low where my exhuast goes under the rear axle. like seriously WTF

i was polite as you would always be and didnt hide anything, but super cop along the Northen Road defected me and sent me to the pits.

Just out of interest, what is the process here in NSW after you get defected? Who can clear your car and how much does it cost? How much can you drive the car before you get cleared?

Ps- think it might be time to hide my pod!

my next defect is gonna be for not having a H pattern on my gearknob... i'm sure that poses a clear and present threat to everyone's well being

LOL i have been defected for that.

it was a very stupid defect if you ask me. they couldn't even properly explain why it was a defect. they just said that it needed to be there. :(

this is what happened:

- got defected for exhaust and pod in a box

- had to hunt around for a replacement exhaust and box

- got it fitted

- showed up at AUVIS mech. who inspected it (paid $51)

- passed paperwork to RTA

- pay $74 fine

excepting the fine, it has to be done within 7 days... it's been two weeks for me so far

Yeah. Let's be tough on "hoons" who have a pod filter, but we won't chase after people who skim credit card details at an ATM and use them fraudelently, WHEN I'VE DONE ALL THE DAMN INVESTIGATIVE WORK AND GOTTEN NAMES AND NUMBERS FOR YOU TO RING AND THEY HAVE AN ADDRESS.

GG.

this is the thing... i knew what the f**k I was doing... i knew this easiest and cheapest place to get a replacement box and exhaust (I got one off here and I get a complete Jap exhaust cheap)... and I have a 9-5 job like everyone else... and it STILL took me close onto 2 weeks to get it done...

f**ks me how ya supposed to do it in 7 days... i called around a few exhaust shops too and they are largely time wasters... it was easier just to get my mechanic to do a complete swap

I know full well these cops are just out to be complete dicks and they seem to love booking people for doing 80 in a 70 zone on an onramp... it's all wasted money and time...

i think i said i was pulled over for an RBT... at 7.30 in the morning... going to work

    • You're probably right about that one. Thanks for your suggestions, I hope I don't need a new 3rd brake light. Although wiring issues might arguably be worse. Right now I'm in the midst of a turbo removal because of my oil leak, other problems are going to have to wait for now.
    • Hell, I know that much. So far I just put it off as "part of the deal".
    • I removed the head expecting to find broken and bent valves, but instead found number 1 at TDC and cylinder 2 at the top of its cylinder stroke as well, thought that was weird and proceeded to push cylinder 2 back down until it either bottomed out on its other piston half or the conrod either way we found the issue kind of,  now to remove the engine and see how the block looks, hopefully its just the top off a piston.
    • A little more work this week.  Fitted astra power steering pump in the boot with a lowe fabrication bracket. Gave the pump a good clean, fitted Anderson plug and high pressure fitting. With the intercooler being flipped under rad support factory headlights weren't going to work. Ordered a set of origin battle lights, they arrived so got them test fitted. Will require some fiddling to fit nice but was an easy quick option for now. And today we pulled out the manual Rb gearbox and test fitted a ZF 8HP50. It will fit with some casting tabs cut off and small tap of the tunnel with a hammer. Pick up the adapter plate Wednesday so hopefully all bolted in Friday and measure for tailshaft which will be a 2 piece. Been doing a lot of ecu, pdm and tcu loom design so when comes to wiring it in a few weeks will all go smoothly.
