Where Do You Wash Your Pride And Joy?

Recommended Posts

I use the sparkling car wash in Burwood. It's right near the Vicroads. Good for bucket washing when times are quiet. Always have fairly clean bays too, and plenty of space to chamois or clean/admire your car.

Yeah i wash there too..its only 2 minutes down the road from my house.i wanna try the new one near the burvale on burwiood hwy tho

hahaha. tkdbboy isnt that car wash one of those leave your car there and people clean it ? i didnt think you could clean your own car there or can you? i only driven past it once or twice

I travel all the way to Sparkling Car Wash once every fortnight to wash my car there too with all of my friends.. we try to go when there's no one else there because we tend to fill up the whole place haha.

Once the one opens on Williamsons Road, I'll be going there to try it out too since it's 5 mins from home but Sparkling will probably be the main home for me to meet with everyone to wash at since they all live out east /south east side, it's a central meeting spot for us!

Yeah Sparkling always has some Civic or Subaru meet going on there. I admit it's close to home (main reason for going there), but I always feel at home there because it's like a car enthusiasts car wash. I reckon a good 80% of the cars that go there are sports cars, particularly in the bucket washing hours.

i only go to sparkling carwash cos i usually dont have any wheel cleaner and i need to hit up the K-mart down the road. the entrance and exit are quite scrapable for lowered cars

oh and...http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Me...tr-t190805.html

wow im surprised how many ppl on sau actually go to and use that sparkling cvar wash on burwood hwy thats pretty close to my house i always drive past i rarely see skylines there lol. i use sometimes the bp ones but my favourite is the aspendale gardens car wash corner of springvale n wells road.

what is this sparkling carwash? sorry for the n00b question, cars been in the shop for 6 months now.

yeahh the entrances on sevenoaks rd for the carwash burwood hwy isnt the best...going in its alright but coming out you will probably scrape even on angle...i alwasy use the one way entrance on burwood hwy  so i dont scrape..

Has anyone seen those guys selling car wash in a can at the servos...they ask ridiculous prices but you can barter heaps and get it for half what they are asking...i reckon the stuffs brilliant..

i washed 3 filthy cars with it and still had a half a can left..plus it leaves a nice waxy shine afterwards....im not selling the crap..but i do think its good

plus its waterless so good for the environment...which means i can spend 10 mins in the shower now >_<

when i say half , i mean a quarter of the original price they quote which they then half..

    • The nissan manual says to change coolant every 2 years. Is this still necessary if you're using coolant like Penrite or nulon which has improved over the years? It says it lasts 500,000km which seems hard to believe lol.
    • According to the Muse website, totally different material. The originals were that horrible solid foam rubber that was used for a lot of rear spoiler/flap things, like on Mitsu Galan GSRs. Heavy, and with enough compressibility/flex that any paint on them would crack fairly quickly. The Muse ones are just ABS, which is obviously similar to GTR lower front lip, etc etc. ABS is a good choice if you have the ability to tool up for it. The only thing better might be TPU-RIM or something equivalent. The TPUs were good. Plenty of flexibility (in twisting, bending, etc) but not really in compression.
    • Update 24/01/2025:    Bought a GReddy/Trust Intercooler (crossflow spec-LS) that was meant for a R33 GTST $871 AUD shipped, and a GReddy Profec boost controller $483 AUD, both brand new from Japan. Being honest, I would've thought the intercooler kit was discontinued but I guess not yet. Decided due to funds + time, I'll stick with a nistune on this stock-ish setup ( stock turbo set to probably 10-12psi ) and have it run cleaner ( suspect the 3" turbo back etc has sh*tted on my economy ) for my trip down south soon for the WSBK. Hopefully I can get it all installed and tuned by then. As for who I am getting it tuned with, I will be going with Toshi, (not hearing back from DVS so scratch that). There is also Birrong Auto but not sure if they do nistune installations and if they even tune it... Otherwise, anyone know where I can get my hands on an aluminium intake/suction pipe for an RB25DET NEO?
    • The german cars I've worked on seem to have that issue(in more than just headlights). Mostly where hot, but also just the insulation hardening and cracking in various places. Not abnormal from what ive seen.
    • According to the Muse website, similar material, but not the same. Meant to help with stopping the paint cracking. In saying that, I had genuine ones on my last grt, and never had that problem.   Could you post pics when you get them? Very much thinking of buying the Muse ones over fibreglass.
