GTR-N1
A black car would be damn hot in India wouldn't it? Have you got a garage? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/288160-export-r34-to-india/#findComment-4847542 Share on other sites
Roy
Where abouts in India are you moving to? I have been working in Hyderabad for a little over a year and an R34 would be rather strange amongst all the Tatas tuk-tuks, goats and buffalo on the roads. But to export your car will be easy on the OZ end of things. Proof of ownership and de-registration is about all i think you would need Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/288160-export-r34-to-india/#findComment-4847675 Share on other sites
Zaver
It would be out of the world to own a R34 in inidia.. As of now there are no R34's in inidia.. And yea i got a garage with a security.. will have to tighten security if i take the car there... And im from Bangalore... Hyderabad is a nice place.. i like the roads there The tough part is the customs in india.. it will cost me a bomb to import a skyline there.. its like 170% Duty charges Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/288160-export-r34-to-india/#findComment-4848739 Share on other sites
GTR-N1
Hmmm.... 170%... Duty based on what? Does this mean that if you have a bill of sale saying that you've bought your car for $20K, duty on top would be $34K? Thus, if it's $10K, duty would be $17K? Or if it were $5K, duty would be an extra $8.5K? Can you legally sell this car to your alter ego for say $3K? In other words, what is market value of a grey import in India? Kujotk
yeah, just pay someone off lol. Sounds like your family might be able to find the rigght person to pay off, or atleast have the money to do so lol. lol terry, whats with the heat comment, r34's come with standard AC and Australia is pretty hot even on a world scale of things lol. I'd only be worried about finding decent fuel to run the car lol. seriously though, Zaver you have to do the research yourself, It doesnt look asif anyone has exported a car from Australia to India. On our side, it is easy to send the car over, basically ring rta (vic roads) and they will tell you what to do on our end. Then find a customs shipping broker that deals with india and ask them. They'll set you up with a 20 foot shipping container, insurance for shipping, they may even know the appropriate duty that needs to be paid.... once the car is in the country i'm sure it cant be that hard to get it registered there, ive never been to india but from my limmit4d knowledge about indian cars, i dont think their registration rules are very strict at all lol. good luck Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/288160-export-r34-to-india/#findComment-4849635 Share on other sites
Chrispy
I knew some guys that used to bring superbikes into India for their own use. Bribing was the only way to go for them, their families were loaded, so a few grand here or there didn't matter. siddr20
India has Lamborghini Murciélago LP640//Bentley Flying Spur //BMW 750Li//RR Phantom//BMW M3//Audi R8 +1 seen plenty of them over there. Anyways would be keen to see how this plans out for you and if you get the car over there safely. Good thing is that its so easy to bribe over there But see if you can do all this properly without costing you an arm and leg. Looking forward to the updates in the future. R34NOS
My suggestion would be dnt bribe because they will confiscate it later.. lot of bollywood stars got their cars confiscated who didn't follow the correct procedure. They are getting smart. Ask the guy below who drove this R34 in India http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/super-cars-i...-gtr-delhi.html Edited September 28, 2009 by R34NOS Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/288160-export-r34-to-india/#findComment-4851761 Share on other sites
Zaver
well im sure its gonna cost me a bomb, but the only thing thart worries me is that they have a rule of bringing in cars which are less than 10yrs old. And my skyline will be 11 yrs old... But im sure there is way to get around that... And seeing the Team BHP thread i just came to know that there is a R34 GTR in India.. Not many people know that there... So when i go there for holidays this time i will find out all the possible info on importing it.. Will keep u guyz Updated!! R34NOS
No worries. Would be cheaper if you take it as transfer of residence in which you dnt have to involve broker. Good luck and do your research before you transfer. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/288160-export-r34-to-india/#findComment-4875425 Share on other sites
