Entered

Zaver: Driver training is conducted on track within their own group. You can drive your car, or have an instructor from the club drive the car and show you what lines to take and how to get around the track safely. It isn't timed as far as I'm aware, but I could be wrong.

So what do u suggest i go for Driver training or the normal thing?? I just want a the maximum track time.. So i can get better.. Is there only a certain period for driver training or is it full day like the others??

And BTW are passengers allowed without a roll cage??

Well my entry is in.

and Remember Folks this is the last round of the Club championship this year, so if you were thinking of coming out to play now is your last chance!

Zaver, there are usually 5-6 groups during the day that take it in turns on the track, (to keep numbers at a managble level.) and cars are groups roughly by speed. plus one for Driver training. (this usually has the last number in it so less ppl on the track)

so DT gets the same amount of track time as all the other cars. plus cost less!

these days are run nothing like the drift days. we have a passenger session if there is time, otherwise it is just you and your instructor if you go for DT.

IF you are a bit unsure and want to get some pointers the DT is the way to go. your instructor can give you the basics you need like technique and lines and if you feel up to it and your instructor is on the same page most people usually end up going out on their own later in the day.

Ill be there, i think. unfinished business.

Well then i guess im in.. Will be going for Driver training!! My friend wants to passenger with me just for this track day , so do u guyz know any place where he can get a helmet from just for the day.. As after that he has no use of it!!

If you enter as a DT you will be allocated an instructer by the WRX club. This is your passenger for the day.

You can't just take anyone out with you.

The idea being that it is Driver TRAINING, so you will have an instructor to give you a few pointers and help you get a feel for circuit sprints...

As said before, there are often passenger sessions during the day that your friends can jump in your car for maybe one or two sessions..

Other than that it is only you in the car.... (Or you and instructor if you do DT)

I''ll get to the form shortly but count me in for this.

Provided I don't bin the car on Monday.

EDIT: Forgot to ask, do we need a cage to take a passenger at these days?

Without a doubt

Don't get caught on the street with that de-cat pipe. They are illegal and being an emissions related offense will carry a heavy fine.

Swap it on at that the track. There will be more than enough jacks and tools if you don't have your own :)

This passes:

It all depends on frequencies though, as some cars with a very deep exhaust note get pinged.

But yeah, 95DB at 30m is quite loud. I'm not sure if it is 95db though, as right next to it it says 75db... but the last Winton was 95.

Yeah of course. I've heard it's some ridiculous fine for not have a cat. I might actually need help, I have a jack and stands but it cant lift the car high enough (with the bloody kit on it) to get under there.

Although this stupid front bar will be definitely be gone by then. Whether or not it's yellow or black still is another story.

Alright, you've convinced me. I'm in.

Driver Training and Novice class right?

Drive your car up onto two bits of wood or something first then you can put something on top of the jack to give you the extra height you need, also, be sure it's on stands to work on it.

Don't stress, with all the people there, we'll find a way to swap it out. Or if you're staying down there just do it at the hotel/caravan park etc and drive it to winton from there.

Oh man. I tried that once, the big nasty crack on the left hand side of the front bar is from me misjudging and rolling the car off the blocks and the blocks then catching the car by the bar itself.

I'm not fussed to be honest, I doubt it'll make a huge difference on my NA beast, but it'd be fun to make those fireballs :)
