Gts-4 Hicas Questions

Hey,

I have an R33 GTS-4 and i striped out my boot a while ago and there is a reservoir of some sort on the right hand side of the boot, is this for the hicas fluid?

Also i had a look under the car where the steering rack for the rear wheels is ment to be and its not there, its bolted onto the rear dif right?? any way i just want to know what the deal is with all wheel steer in these how to lock it and remove it.

i had a similar question about that canister on my gt4 a wee while ago,... sucks when everything is in japanese eh! anyways, , that canister is actually it turns out that that resevoir is for the ATTESSA 4wd system

and yes your hicas should be bolted onto the rear diff, if its not there then you must not have it. my gt4 doesnt have it either

I have the pump in under the rear drivers side quarter...or is that something else?!? Was told it was hicas pump as it was rusted when i got my RWC at Kamikazi Motors.

Rear driver side qaurter is the ATTESSA pump.

There are also a couple of pumps on top of the diff.. dont touch those.. they are attessa pumps..

im pretty sure it was something called Nissan 'ATF fluid' not sure if other brands make atf fluid, it prolly costs a small fortune lol

your r33 gts4 dose not have Hicas, its your AWD ATTESSA fluid tank.

why would you want it gone, thats the whole point of the GTS4?

i believe r33 hicas is actuated by electric solenoid, not hydraulic system.

anyway he wants hicas locked out, not attessa.

by the sounds of it he doesnt have hicas, and he asked how to top up the attessa resevoir

ENR33 is a gts4, "C'' is for HICAS, r33 gts4s never came with HICAS hence there is no "C" in the ENR33 as opposed to ECR33 (gtst), BCNR33 (gtr) etc

This thred has strayed a bit...I was told that the thing in the boot was hicas so i would get rid of it if i could, but it seems that its the res for the ATTESSA system that i want to keep...
