You must have sent yours exactly the same time as I sent mine Jay! I also expect mine on Monday, Tuesday. I will post some pics when I get it in for those interested in how it looks on a 33.

yeah, well i guess if its all the same, money order is cool too?

my dads company is making these, im not getting them for free...hes got a lot on his plate and is doing this for me as a favour and to help you guys out.  he just would like to see a money order before he ships a faitly intricate and time consuming part to the other side of australia...and thats fair enough id say.

im sending 3 kits to brisbane this afternoon, no probs.

;)

Jay beat me again. Nice bit of kit, just contemplating to best route for the pipes at the moment. Again nice bit of gear, don't forget when the R33 GTR kit is ready let me know.

All done, looks pretty tidy. Everything fits beautifully, the only thing I think that could improve this is a 90 deg bend to come off the rocker cover, either a hydraulic type metal bend or a pre-bent pipe like I ended up using. Its a peice of Gemini heater hose would you believe (I knew that would come in handy one day!). Just enables you to keep the pipes going where you want them to go and therefore looking tidier.

Here is a pic on a R33 GTST for those who want to know.

thanks guys!

glad they arrived safely i was hoping nothing would happen during delivery so thats great!

with the piping, on whistlas, we routed them just ahead of the end of the cam cover, past the crank angle sensor.....and then just ran each to its plug from there.

and yeah i know what you mean about the need for a 90 degree bend, it would make it easier, so im glad you found a substitute!

jlnewton: im awaiting a reply from a melb-based 33 GTR, so as soon as we get one on his we can replicate you a bracket and ill msg u asap!

still have several left for anyone interested!

    • We just disconnected the vacuum line if I remember correctly, booster is still there. Is there a rebuild solution for the booster or a different adapter that will work for GTR chassis?
    • Yeah 4wd (boosted) has a recess in the firewall for the booster, and 2wd is flat - the example in the link shows the flat surface. When you deleted the booster, did you just attach the factory slave cylinder directly to the recess in the firewall with no adaption?
    • Yes, but no. You need to keep the mating surfaces bare (ie the flat faces where the caliper and upright pads touch the dogbone) and also the internal threads will remain bare (unless there are no internal threads - do they use nuts on all the bolts?). So you can slow down obvious external corrosion, but not all of it. Anodising would be required to provide decent protection to the alloy, but I'm not actually sure if you should anodise something that is all about the strength. Anodising does reduce strength significantly. Like, up to 50% on some alloys for high thickness coating.
    • Thanks   does painting on aluminium work or stop them from corroding?
    • 'Sgot nothing to do with them being Japanese. The climate in the north of Japan has similarities to the UK - the cars are made in the knowledge that they have snow and salt, and they rot there. Cars made in the US rot like buggery in the US. British cars have always rotted regardless of the weather. They will rot indoors in a climate controlled bubble! The brackets are not unsafe yet, but they will get that way. They may well corrode where the bolt threads are in contact and the bolts could just jump out without warning.
