How about stick with Jap cars!

GET A CENTURY, OR A CELSIOR.

THOSE CARS ARE f**kING YAKUZA/GANGSTER PIMPING VIP CARS

or get an e46 especially 325i's , good cars but not powerful and you can make them have that VIP look too! just not with purple velvet and rear massage seats etc.

Look at fcruz3rs BMW he sold , his was a good clean example of something looking pimpin.

i know most of you guys are hard out jap fans.. but really.. a celsior and a newish clk are pretty different

also there's a longer service interval on the benz's.. you're really only looking at 1 a year, i'm very sure the last couple my dad has had only need servicing every 15-20 thou.. and since you're not flogging the shit out of them like you would a skyline, etc you're not really up for breaking drivetrain parts

downside is that they won't rip a doughie.. ive tried

Hahah. GERMAN HAMMERZEIT cannot proceed.

Their internal computers combust when someone tries to do a doughie. They are so grandma friendly its not funny those cars.

I love the look of CLK's syfon and it will bring out the inner greek :P.

get the number plates rollnmerc or someshit.

Yeah i guess with a car like this i wouldn't plan on trying to rip a doughie or standstill - or i'd most probably try something :P

SLK's are definitely hairdressers cars. I think all but the most brand new ones are built on some other cars shitty chassis, can't remember what it was though ;)

They have been used as F1 safety cars.

How many hairdressers you know who drive 'em? ;)

Ok, so basically the CLK listed a few posts above (previous page me thinks) has the following specs/options:

  • Supercharged-intercooled 2.3L 4cylinder engine (120km's on this one)
  • 5-speed automatic transmission
  • 142kW @ 5300rpm, 280Nm @ 2500rpm
  • ABS
  • Air-conditioning
  • Front & side air-bags for 1st row occupants
  • Light grey leather interior with woodgrain trim
  • Electric sunroof
  • Power everything (seats, windows, steering, etc)
  • Heated front seats
  • Independent suspension
  • And some other things bla bla bla

This car is intended to be a cruiser for down south trips etc and will also be a daily driver.

I only plan on some light cosmetic mods - dished rims, lowered a bit, HIDs, aftermarket head/tail lights. Oh, that and a HUGE sound system :yes:

I have read about the fuel economy figures and city driving is not too bad, country driving is pretty damn good.

So it has a pretty decent compromise between power & economy, but i will still miss the power of my 25 :cool:

I have done some more reading and spoken to a few people re this particular make/model and everyone seems to be pretty happy with all aspects of the car.

My old man is a little skeptical of letting me buy a car like this (and i do understand exactly what he is saying/where he is coming from) due to maintenance costs if something goes wrong. I will service the car myself every 5000km's as i know it is quite easy.

I personally think the best thing to do to find any mechanical/electrical faults is to get someone (probably Jason at Diesel Motors) to plug their laptop to see the history of the vehicle's computer etc.

I don't have a family either but it's immensely practical! and getting chopped by a lunchbox is very demoralising :cool:

Comfy as, still got poke (Jippas is as fast as mine) and can fit a heap of crap in the back!

Getting chopped by a RB25 Lunchbox can be quite depressing haha.

These things (CLK) make 148kW so im happy with that, and i have driven one so i know what they go they, not slow but not fast either lol

      Hey all, not sure how active SAU is anymore but will ask away anyways. Just wanted to get some experience on the 2008 model GTR CBA model.  I've hit that age in my life (43) where I'm like fk it time to get my dream (midlife crisis) car. Looking at importing one in and seeing if these can be reliable if the main flaws are fixed up. Plan is to keep money aside to do the following straight off the bat to future proof it: * install a stage 1 rebuilt trans with all new bits and pieces.  * install a new Bellhousing from the later model GTRs. Or potentially an upgraded stronger version like MAD or ATR. Besides the above two things and typical maintenance items anything else you'd recommend doing.   Been speaking to a few people and the engine on these are very reliable apparently. But keen on the view of the community here. Hoping to find a nice grade 4.5 with low mileage in Grey. I'd go black but swirls too easy. Look forward to your responses and feedback. Cheers

      Do Alan and Keith work on Skylines now? I remember buying stuff from them when I owned my Ralliart Lancer a few moons ago. Definitely genuine guys and be excellent if they dealt with the skyline platform as well.

      Hey all, I'm Gaston from Sydney's West.  I was a member on here when I was a younger lad and owned a mint R33 GTS-T. Ended up selling it and getting married having kids (yadda yadda) we all know how the story goes. Now I'm back with the intention to get my midlife crisis (dream) car ... a R35 GTR.  You'll see me about asking questions and searching the forums. Good to be back and can't wait to get back an Import again.

      I have to put something here in order to post the photos. From what I could gather there's more enthusiasm for modified cars now than there has been for years. There were probably more younger people there than older (me included lol) which was a good sign.  It did seem like the record least amount of representation of the 90's era hero cars on display though. Like maybe one or two examples of S-chassis Nissans, and maybe 3 or 4 R-chassis. By comparison there were a lot of Civics from that era but in all there were about 10 - 12 EG/EK Civic Type R.  Euro exotics are always there in large numbers, led by Liberty Walk...... say what you will about kids using markers to scribble on a Ferrari F40, it did seem like a stunt to infuriate Ferrari enthusiasts, or Ferrari itself. I wonder if there's something more to it. Either way LBWK have done some heinous things to a Lamborghini Miura this time. They should stop now.

      Engines and drivelines are not war stoppers for me mate, busted arse bodies and un-obtainium parts and panels are though Both cheap Brumbies I looked at had trashed tubs and a fair bit of rust
