There`s a 15 year law in Australia that allows cars to be imported that are over 15 years old that do not have to comply with the ADRs (Australian Design Rules) they have there. This means effectively that people can save $2000 - 3000 and not have to go through anything to dramatic to get the car registered.

I'd say Paragons car was built in Sept/Oct '89...

I could bring it in now, compliance for the R32 is Available early Jan, but that is going to mean an extra $3000 and all my modified parts returned to stock... No thanks, thats everything, Stereo's, Turbo Timers, whatever, If it gets complied it has to be 100% Stock

But, there's a fair few awkward regulations to get around when sending a car back to England...like no xenons for start..

So you've got to wait 10 months or so to get the car. Still, the wait will be worth it I'm sure :)

Whatever the case, I've heard many a time that the ADRs are akin to the German TUV on severity... utterly pointless and there to protect the local car industry...

If that's true, then Yokohama isn't that far from Tokyo so if you're able to come to TAS, you might be able to organise a run down the coast to check out your car...
