Damn it - i shoulda made my personal trip at the END of the year not in march....

I'll still be going to the TAS, but probably not as a groupie with u guys.... bit hard when u have your folks trailing around... hope to catch up tho with ev bod and get group pics with SAU - Jap Chapter

Sounds like TAS will be a Gaijin-fest bwahahaha

but why do you have to wait till next August to get the car???

Build date, Dave.. build date.

There`s a 15 year law in Australia that allows cars to be imported that are over 15 years old that do not have to comply with the ADRs (Australian Design Rules) they have there. This means effectively that people can save $2000 - 3000 and not have to go through anything to dramatic to get the car registered.

I'd say Paragons car was built in Sept/Oct '89...

Yup thats correct Rezz,

I could bring it in now, compliance for the R32 is Available early Jan, but that is going to mean an extra $3000 and all my modified parts returned to stock... No thanks, thats everything, Stereo's, Turbo Timers, whatever, If it gets complied it has to be 100% Stock :D

I got some cool modified parts as well

mmmm Teins Fully adjustable suspension, Defect one day, legal the next :headspin:

Rezz - thanks for filling me in on that. :) Geez, you guys have it unlucky over there. That comliancing thing sounds like a right load of cr4p... :D

But, there's a fair few awkward regulations to get around when sending a car back to England...like no xenons for start.. :D

So you've got to wait 10 months or so to get the car. Still, the wait will be worth it I'm sure :) :)

Heheh, I thought all the laws we (they) have originated from England!

Whatever the case, I've heard many a time that the ADRs are akin to the German TUV on severity... utterly pointless and there to protect the local car industry...

Parag0n - I'm sure the time will pass quickly. But hey, I've heard that cars waiting to be shipped are put in storage down in Yokohama. If that's true, then Yokohama isn't that far from Tokyo so if you're able to come to TAS, you might be able to organise a run down the coast to check out your car... :D

  • 2 weeks later...
Just over a week until we leave.

Not that im counting or anything ;)

Point taken Blitz... we need to do a final head count, and I wanna touch base with all parties before the 7th.

This just in: I won't be arrive at JR Tokyo until 9:30am. From memory, it takes about 30-40 odd minutes to get out to Makuhari? I could be late for the 10am rendezvous....!

in for japan!

We should make a list of the two parties that are heading over to japan and get some contact infomation just in case.

Good idea...

Starting a new stickied thread now...

I've yet to get anything definite from the British contingent - that maybe do to it being xmas week and everyone is pissed...;) Will let you know when I do. Count me in, I'll be there on the 10th at 10AM or there abouts. Rezz, I wouldn't worry about being late, I have a feeling most of us will probably be a little late anyways!
