Rb26 End Float Adjustment

I am bolting together my bottom end. I have measured the end float at 0.0025" (2.5 Thou) the machine shop recommended 0.005".

How do I remove 0.0025" material from the bearing? I have a surface block and lapping paste?

did they specify a tolerance aswell or just say 00005 ?
