Ok so I'm about to embark on my first RB rebuild... ok well maybe just a freshen up. I'm out to buy rings and bearings tomorrow BUT I really don't want to pull the engine out to do the job. This isn't a road car its more of a hack about.

Is it possible with the GTS-4 to remove the sump without removing the engine? I'm almost prepared to cut the crossmember out if need be (yes I'm rough), obviously I'd prefer not to do that.

If anyone knows the trick to getting it out with the engine in the car it would be greatly appreciated. (Such as drop sump down then remove pickup to remove sump completely etc.)

I don't need to be flamed just after some useful advice.

I've searched for a few weeks and the only results I could find were for the GTST not the GTS-4.

Cheers in advance

much much easier to pull the motor out, for a start you can't get the block checked if you leave it in the car. also it is very difficult to get the sump off without pulling the motor out.
