they've finally done it boys.

Melbourne officially has its very own highway patrol show, saw a glimpse of the commercial and saw alot of hoon action and you guessed it....skylines.

looks like this ones a must to watch.

Premiering Monday, September 21 8pm on Channel Seven

Take a seat and buckle-up; it's going to be a wild ride with the new Channel Seven series MELBOURNE'S HIGHWAY PATROL.

MELBOURNE'S HIGHWAY PATROL takes a rare fly-on-the-wall glimpse into the working lives of the Victorian police officers who spend their days striving to keep our roads safe.

From high-speed chases to violent conflicts and catching speeding drivers to investigating crash scenes, officers of the Victoria Police Traffic Units spend each day on the front line.

These officers are passionate about their work, proud of what they do on a daily basis and invite viewers into their remarkable world in MELBOURNE'S HIGHWAY PATROL.

Seven Head of Factual Programming Dan Meenan said HIGHWAY PATROL was a great complement to Seven's high-performing portfolio of observational docudramas:

"In the tradition of such successful shows like Border Security and The Force, MELBOURNE'S HIGHWAY PATROL puts the viewers right in the thick of things. It's non-stop action right from the start."

MELBOURNE'S HIGHWAY PATROL was produced by Greenstone Pictures for Channel Seven with the cooperation of Victoria Police.

any thoughts??

im looking forward to it. just like RUSH, melbourne based crime show's are awesome.

but then of course it will hit the chaple street scene, and it will be like that sydney one where the cops get abused by the thugs who own the fully sick vl's. it will make melbourne's car scene look bad if they only show the idiot tools heads doing stupid shit.

like if they got a call out to out SAU photo shoot a while ago at the docklands, film crew on toe, could publicly broadcast not all import drivers are hoons and idiots. but that wont get their ratings up i suppose

that would be a good idea, but like you just stated, it wont get there ratings up...so all they are going to show is people hooning and make it worse for us import drivers...im looking forward to watching it, but not looking forward to the impact its going to make.

:)

Love the fact that it is up against that "hoon show" on SBS.

Which one? & What time?

Haven't being up with the times as I haven't watched any free to air TV for years (internet stream TV FTW).

Anyway keen to checking this sh*t out tonight :)

Do I have bets on which car(s) is gonna pop up the most? Imports or Falcodores?

I reckon we should have bets on which twit from SAU turns up on the show first lol.

Can only do bad for us all...I mean, as has been said, real-life drama shows like this rely on the bad stuff to keep people interested. It will just expose the "need" for more hoon legislation and wasted money. I hate that our road toll is slightly lower than last year. I know that sounds bad, but I really don't like our state government to think this insignificant difference has anything to do with the excessive amounts of money they've spent trying to reduce it. When the road toll lowers they claim credit for it, but when it stays the same or increases they blame it on something else or say the implementation needs time to take effect. I would love and vote for a government who comes out and says they f**ked up.

I remember late last year seeing a Commodore pulled over by a couple of police cars and one of the cops was carrying a television camera...it looked so suss I thought it was a drug bust or something. I'm guessing it was for this show.

Looks like its 1 for the falcodores already...

yeah they have a form or something you sign to give them the right to show the face. On the add's Hamish the only skyline i saw looked like yours.

I didnt think they had to since it is filmed in a public place.
