xALmoN
The system here is pretty damn harsh, in singapore we got 13pts when we're on our P's and then 24 once we're off our P's and our P's only last one year. And having just converted my license, i'm back on my P's, for another 8 months, till August. I never knew how many points can rack up since i've been given conflicting information. So if its 5 points, for a P plater, i have 4 points left. =( Time to take the bicycle and the trains more. So then you might not be on your P's afterall. Just to tide over the period when i'm on my P's, then i can actually buy a turbo car legally. Awesome! But, like won't they know that i hold a victoria license since they have my name logged into the system and all? tets
am i correct to say that the lady that got done 4 years no licence etc. would of saved herself alot of trouble if she didnt open the door or refused to go to the police station? she wasnt under arrest so by her going to the police station was out of her own will? KURAUN
pretty sure they would have arrested her if she didnt they were witnesses of what she did and that gives the police the right to take her in for a breath test if im correct? I don't think so, they are trying to keep idiots off the road that can't control themselves. I lost my licence twice on my P's. Certainly taught me a lesson. Aren't licence laws and registration pretty different in Singapore anyhow? Not everyone can afford to drive from what I understand where as every bum can get a car and drive here. Stagea_Neo
Adzmax I've forgot accurately what the cost of rego and licence is in Singapore but it's insanely expensive, 100k for rego rings a bell. Quoting Charles 89 That's hmmm.....15years ago I'm sure back then, cops didn't target imports lol Nup just targeted us P platers in the VC/VH Commondoors Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/288784-melbournes-highway-patrol/page/13/#findComment-4890726 Share on other sites
_Ryan_
LOL... 5 points. You youngsters are doin it tough. That does not sound right, i believe P platers only get 5 points for 3 years, once your off your P's you 12 points for 3 years. 12 points 3years the same as anyone, BUT, you can only accumulate 5 points in ANY 12month period(imagine a sliding time line from your most recent point back) Full license at midnight tonight, never had a demerit point offense. Shell
this show is hilarious... that blonde bogan cop thinks she's on 'Cops' I reckon "You using? You using?" That guy in the orange VL was laughing the whole time and really didnt give a f**k... hammering it after he was allowed to go is really smart too I've only watched last nights and the one with the red "GTR".... "Go paint the town GTR red" Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/288784-melbournes-highway-patrol/page/13/#findComment-4890880 Share on other sites

Yes that's correct. Police have less power than you think, the absolute smartest thing she could have done is just not answer the door at all. Nothing Cops can really do... they would've possibly come back the next day and try and question her further about the incident but at least there would have been no proof of her being pissed. If she opened the door and then refused to go to the station she would then be arrested under suspicion of driving a motor vehicle while intoxicated (becuase just by looking at her you can tell she was drunk). Also I'd just like to go a little off topic and say that yes Cops probably do pull over more imports than anything else. But it's because imports are more prone to illegal mods, would you go around pulling over Corollas all day? No of course not, why? Because it would be a waste of your time and you'd never fine anyone. They 'pick' on you for a reason, you're doing illegal shit! adznight
It's because rego and insurance is expensive and it's probably more convenient to take public transport Yeah that's what I'm saying - less drivers on the road. The laws are tighter here because as soon as every kid turns 18 they are out and about in their new car. W0rp3D
Is it just me or are our cops too laid back, on the latest episode a guy takes off as the cop goes back to his car, so what does the cop do when he pulls him over, he leaves him in the car with it running so the guy can do it again if he wants, i would think that the least he would have done is take the keys till he was done. On the other hand i liked the way they took the other guy down after he rammed the cop car, cops need to get a little more aggressive with these dicks.
