R33 Gtr Xenon Headlamp Has Red / Pink Colour

Hi

I have an R33 GTR with Xenon headlamps, recently one of them has started to glow pink instaed of white.

Has anybody come across this before?

I've had the car about 4 years. It was complied with standard lights then the Xenons were refitted so I guess the wiring has been chopped and re-joined? The lights were fine until about a week ago.

I've sprayed out the connectors with contact cleaner but it still glows pink.

When it is first turned on it glows white first then turns slightly pink.

Any ideas?

Generally they change colour with age. So when you replace Xenon's you have to change both of them at the same time to have a colour balance.

Of that could be HID's...

i have an r34 handbook and in it it says with the xenon headlights when they start changing colour like you mentioned than they are on there way out and will need to be replaced.

as the two other guys wrote it's because the bulb is worn so change both of them and you are on the way again
