ok, so my 10A (bat) "Electrical Parts" fuse keeps blowing.

noticible effects:

- clock on tachometer is out (but backlight stil works)

- radio doesnt work at all

- digital a/c panel does not hold memory (i.e. when i turn the car off and then on again, the temperature, fan, and mode settings are all reset)

any thoughts on what it could be?

fiddled with the radio lately?

no. i installed it a couple years ago and it all worked fine. it's only recently that the fuse went.

i've checked all radio connections for breaks and all ground connections.

my next step is to check the connections behind the cluster

are you overloading the cig lighter plug in ?? does it still work ?? lots of people use the wires for radios/turbo timers/aftermarket stuff and dont consider the fuse sizes ??

I would guess your radio or something connected to the same circuit is shorting out or pulling too much power (dodgy car alarm/radio install maybe?)

check the metal bracket around the radio for spark marks ? or loose red/yellow power wires on the radio ? bad ground on the radio ?

The same thing is happening to my r32...

The 10A fuse blows straight away... My cd player wont turn on, my aircon unit wont hold its memory and my dash clock will light up but not show anything! It happened to me after my mechanic replayed my aircons compressor bearing... He also had a look at my relays to see if they were stuffed and the wires coming off underneath my Aircon relay seems to be melted to gether slightly. So im wondering if the cd player, clock and air con have a linked live feed that comes from the air con relay? Any thoughts would be appreciated heaps.. :(
