Treasurer

Maintain bank account

collect membership fees and event fees

(if the Gift Recever status comes thru) issue reciepts for gifts and make sure proper amounts are transferred to the gift fund. Withdraw from gift fund when fundable task is to be carried out.

maintain the following records:

records of receipts and payments

GST tax invoices and income tax records

bank reconciliation statements

stocklists of merchandise and promotional material

We still have to talk to the accountant about certain things. It might just turnout u get to play with all the money :) lolz we'll have to see how much work the accountant will do or how much it will cost.

we haven't got gift recipient status so scratch that bit out.

Since snowman and a couple other guys were interested we could make them aides, where they'll be part of the decision making team, and they'll be called upon when any of the committee members are unavailable or have a full workload.

I dunno, don't want to start making positions up coz then it jus confuses the issue... but then I dun wanna discourage these guys either.

Thats true..the current format is fine position wise. Until we get the club up and running then we can discuss if thier is a need for more positions.

just a thought...

why don't you make the positions an 'interim team' and all the people who everyone doesn't know can be some sort of assistants (as mentioned)

then after 2 months or so have the first AGM and then elect the final positions for the next period of time based on their performance in the 'interim team' etc.. make people earn their spot!

whatever happens, good luck!

well my understanding of a non profit organisation was that we don't have to submit a tax return as long as our earnings were less than $6000. Which it shouldn't be anyways. We do have to maintain reciepts etc for our own purposes. None of the money earnt can go to the actual committee and100% of it must be invested back into the members. As long as we do this there should be no requirement to be involved with the ATO, and no need for an accountant. But its always a good idea to get confirmation from him for now until its all sorted out.

Sound like everything is going well!!

Glad to see that there is actually going to be a commitee.

I would also like to get involve if I could to provide any support.

But as I'm still relatively new, I guess any major roll is out of my leauge.

Is there any pen pushing roles or PR roles that need to be filled?! :)

Definitely don't start making up positions for the sake of keeping people happy. If Al want the Vice Pres job the the Assistant Events is still available Im more than happy to do it but if there is someone deemed more appropriate there will be no skin off my nose. Im just looking forwards to the club getting going and meeting some more people starting this Sunday at Heathcote.

snowman how good will u be as a treasurer? coz we still need one of em. all you'll need to do is keep a tab of our expenditures and take off occasionally with our profits to the bahamas...

Even if u'r not of official position you're more than welcome to organise events etc and help out.

If no one wants the job then I elect NismoR34 as the new trasurer...

once we find ourselves a treasurer *coff* *coff* NismoR34 *coff* we should be set, and we can have a meeting. Till then yeah, try n find sum1.

    • I think you're really missing the point. The spec is just the minimum spec that the fuel has to meet. The additive packages can, and do, go above that minimum if the fuel brand feels they need/want to. And so you get BP Ultimate or Shell Ultra (or whatever they call it) making promises to clean your engine better than the standard stuff....simply because they do actually put better additive packages in there. They do not waste special sauce on the plebian fuel if they can avoid it. I didn't say "energy density". I just said "density". That's right, the specific gravity (if you want to use a really shit old imperial description for mass per unit volume). The density being higher indicates a number of things, from reduces oxygen content, to increased numbers of double bonds or cyclic components. That then just happens to flow on to the calorific value on a volume basis being correspondingly higher. The calorific value on a mass basis barely changes, because almost all hydrocarbon materials have a very similar CV per kg. But whatever - the end result is that you do get a bit more energy per litre, which helps to offset some of the sting of the massive price bump over 91. I can go you one better than "I used to work at a fuel station". I had uni lecturers who worked at the Pt Stanvac refinery (at the time they were lecturing, as industry specialist lecturers) who were quite candid about the business. And granted, that was 30+ years ago, and you might note that I have stated above that I think the industry has since collected together near the bottom (quite like ISPs, when you think about it). Oh, did I mention that I am quite literally a combustion engineer? I'm designing (well, actually, trying to avoid designing and trying to make the junior engineer do it) a heavy fuel oil firing system for a cement plant in fricking Iraq, this week. Last week it was natural gas fired this-that. The week before it was LPG fired anode furnaces for a copper smelter (well, the burners for them, not the actual furnaces, which are just big dumb steel). I'm kinda all over fuels.
    • Well my freshly rebuilt RB25DET Neo went bang 1000kms in, completely fried big end bearing in cylinder 1 so bad my engine seized. No knocking or oil pressure issue prior to this happening, all happened within less than a second. Had Nitto oil pump, 8L baffled sump, head drain, oil restrictors, the lot put in to prevent me spinning a bearing like i did to need the rebuild. Mechanic that looked after the works has no idea what caused it. Reckoned it may have been bearing clearance wrong in cylinder 1 we have no idea. Machinist who did the work reckoned it was something on the mechanic. Anyway thats between them, i had no part in it, just paid the money Curiosity question, does the oil system on RB’s go sump > oil pump > filter > around engine? If so, if you had a leak on an oil filter relocation plate, say sump > oil pump > filter > LEAK > around engine would this cause a low oil pressure reading if the sensors was before the filter?   TIA
