just a quick question.Does anyone know if the hks gt-rs turbo with t3 flange a straight fit on the m35 stagea?

Not straight on, You may possibly be able to fit it in there, you would then have to make a custom manifold as the standard turbo is a completely different shape.

Then you could run silicone pipe on the the compressor side. A bit of stuffing around but I hope to do it myself once I build up a 3.5L block.

fixed

which means?

I believe it means scotty nm35 has his first taker for the VQ35det group buy...

Back on topic, it seems to mean that, no, the HKS GT-RS doesnot appear to be a direct fit.

The GT-RS fits nicely size-wise, but as Scotty said, a custom manifold is required.. not to mention the oil/water lines.

It will be a bit shorter than the M24N as well, so the stock dump will be no good - although I would safely assume that if you are putting a GT-RS in, you would also have a full exhaust

Ah I wondered if the engine was the same enough to fit. I think the same thing is possible with the supercharger kit for the V35 skylines with the VQ35DE isn't it?

I like your thinking, a supercharged 4wd 3.5l stag would be quite a weapon. Might be easier/ cheaper to buy a PNM35 and s/c it? :D

Oh yeah, that might actually convince me to "upgrade" to an M35 :)

...that is, if I was convinced that the M35's auto gearbox could handle that sort of power  I wonder how strong the ATTESA system is in the M35 as well?

It was posted a little while ago, but its a guy in japan that has fitted a GTRS to his VQ25DET

Full custom manifold and exhaust. - If I ever have to do turbo, I will go GTRS, it seems like a great match to the VQ25 even if its gonna take some playing about to get it in there!

Ben.

HKS GT-RS is a garrett GT2871 (52 trim comp) in a HKS specific T3 turbine housing.

There is no reason local turbo shops couldn't machine the factory turbine housing to fit the turbine which would only leave the intake and oil/water lines to get sorted.

What?? Ruin a perfectly good GT-RS by hacking the standard turbine housing onto the back? May as well just highflow.

Go the custom manifold! The standard one is crap.

That engine is one of the elusive VQ35DET's with AWD, I love mechanical porn. :)

umm...no. I didn't say hack up a HKS GT-RS.

I said it is a GT2871 (52 trim comp). So if someone wanted a close approximation then making a hybrid turbo out of a factory housing machined out to fit a GT2871 cartridge with the garrett compressor housing. It would make it easier to bolt up than the HKS unit as it would only require intake mods to make it fit.

My friends will make you a nice manifold for anyone wanting to do this!

if i had the coin i would get them to twin turbo it. i still want a manual behind it tho.

hmm... someone keeps telling me that an R34 Getrag 6 speed will fit... maybe you should try that ;)

i must have been living on a different planet, but did Getrag really make the R34 gearbox?

yerp they made the box for the r34, same as the box for the "indestructible" toyota supra minus the transfer
