It's now NCOP11 that covers wheels & Suspension, 14 is totally unrelated.

previous link does not work, only took 12hrs to become a dead page............go figure........

Could you ask the police to put it in writing and sign on it as a legal statement?

or they'd tell u to f*k off?

Just ask what part of the road traffic standards, regulations or act was amended and say that you don't remember seeing it when you updated your folder at home last week. They'll make them shut up if they are bullshitting you.

THE MORE YOU KNOW! <--- WA ACT (I think thats the right one)

Guys seriously if a cop starts to say something that your pretty sure is shit tell him your going to start recording the conversation and they will leave you alone instantly trust me it works....

if they do not want you to record them then let them know you will not speak with them until a third party turns up to verify the conversation, i get the old man to come down :P

it is this sort of lies yes lies not mis-informed lies (think i made my point) that gives them the bad repoutation and also gives us unjust yellows.

Maybe he knows stock Skyline rim sizes and how much bigger you were allowed to go.

If you are reading this and thought that the cop meant 19" rims and up for any vehicle are now being banned.. you are a f**king idiot.

Ryan i think your giving them too much credit if you think they know that much about any car never mind a skyline...

PS calm down a little and dont attack members until you know your right.. the first post has a V35 in his profile so 18's stock...

I don't think you're allowing cops any credit. All the cops I've come across have been great guys and I get tired of people whinging and slagging them off on forums. You mod your car illegally/you break the law, you get done. Don't come on here and bitch about it.

And I wasn't saying anything about the cop being right/wrong about Paul's V35. It appears that people are reading this and thinking that they are banning 19"+ rims from all vehicles. This, obviously, is not the case.

Yeah i get it about people slagging off cops. and i 100% agree with you on having illegal mods and breaking the law... i too am actually friends with 2 officers and even they cannot stand a lot of the s**t the power humgry ones say and do, i am all for doing the right thing, but it means they have to know the law too which the officer in this instance obviously did not.

.

I got told i can't have 19" rims or higher. I said "what?" The cop says no car is now aloud to have anything larger then 18's since 4 weeks ago.

Do you even read the OP???

the cop said straight out that NO car can have anything larger then 18's......

and i agree on calling other members a "f*cking idiot" is not really acceptable even if your just saying it generally and not directly at any one...

i recently lost my licence to undercover wrx hatch...and since then on the double or nothing scheme and have been pulled over twice since then. had 20s on my v when i was pulled over, checked the whole car no sticker no nothing, this was 2 weeks ago. im guessing cop had pms and was throwing tamtroms at paul. :D some cops are nice others arent, some days good some days bad, what ive learnt is sometimes your just at the wrong place wrong time.

Well seeing as you started two threads on the same subject:
You've been duped by a cop who "thinks" he can pull one over you. Ahh country cops, so "up with the times".

We are all governed by a national ruling NCOP14 http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/roads/veh...ng_3Feb2006.pdf

In summary we can not increase tyre width by more than 30% over stock (OEM) or placard.

So Front can go from 225 out to max 292 (rounded to nearest avail size 285)

Rear can go from 245 out to 318 ( or 315 next avail size).

You can have any size Ø rim as long as you maintain aspect ratio and the overall diameter of the tyre is not more than 15mm larger than stock.

Also the tyres must be load rated to suit.

I suggest you print it out, highlight the parts pertinent and keep it with you and if he hassles you again, show him the error of his ways, then bend him over and shove it up his a**.

Hallelujah brudda.................

The link there doesn't work.

Also, how does this effect people getting ridiculously larger width wheels and stretching smaller tyres onto them? 215s on a 10 inch rim are legal under this, or is there more to it than that?

If you kept reading further down the page you wold have seen a new link and that will also tell you tyre size min/max to rim size

    • Hey Mark...sorry to interrupt your career change to hair dressing... but...did you ever fit the interchiller to the commodore, and if so how was it? And, who made it?
    • I've been pondering this, I really enjoy the convertible thing, for me, it's like riding a motorbike, without all the issue of riding a motorbike, mainly, my old sore arthritic joints getting beaten up, and, being able to do it in shorts and a T-shirt and not needing a helmet and all the other gear required, especially like wearing jackets and pants in the summer, or needing 6 layers of cloths in the winter, or not having wet weather gear handy when your 100km away from home on the bike when it decides to start raining As for the hard top and its Coupe look, whilst I do lose all that open top feeling that I really enjoy, from my experience with the NB with a detachable hard top, the cabin is a much nicer place to be, the difference in noise for one, a hard top quietens down the interior, alot, with the soft top up or down it's pretty noisy, which, after 5 or so hours, can get tiring But, as you stated, the detachable hard top totally changes the look of the car, in a really good way, and for me, the look of a detachable hard top is so much better than the PRHT which looks more like a after thought with its weird bulbous rear roof line For me, the minimal effort of putting in on, or storing it after removing it, is well worth the time and effort for the look alone And yes, I'm sure the next owner will be grateful for it as well.......
    • I get into huffs with people when I suggest the MX5 looks so much better as a coupe than it does as convertible. Pretty sure I don't prefer the convertible version of anything. Good job on the hardtop! The next buyer will appreciate.
    • IMO wrap does have its uses, but like you said, quality wrap, and professional installation, would probably cost want a quality paint job does, but, the paint, if maintained, is basically for life, and much easier to touch up if required  In other news: it's pissing down here, with thunder, lightning and only some small hail "at this stage", luckily all "my" cars are undercover  I've also been contacted by a guy in Newcastle about the SS, he said he will come down next weekend for a look, we'll see how that transpires I guess 🫰
    • Nah, I'm not an a-hole, ha ha!   I do like the colour match. Some of the carbon fibre wraps are quite freaking horrible. There's one a local company I know uses, and it looks damn good! Also very very expensive per metre to buy! ha ha ha It might be cheaper to respray the roof than use the good CF Wrap, ha ha!
