Nic_A31
^^ Agreed with JonnoHR31 I was on my old Ps and got a letter in the mail detailing the new system, and a pair of new plates from the DPI. Between my own cars and work vehicles I was buying new sets of plates every couple of months anyway. The new color scheme was available almost straight away from service stations / auto stores. Dunno how you managed to go for over a year without knowing about it, especially with all the other cars on the road with them. Ten Four
It was switched over BEFORE I got my license, so I didn't know about ANY change! Servo's still sold both types so I just picked whichever? dan_the_man
oh you should be able to contest it in court. See section 78a of the Road Traffic Act 1974 - "It may be used as a defence to blame it on the servo." Mayuri Krab
Who can you blame speeding on then? Soccer mums in 4x4s? syfon
I have white P plates with the P written in RED. James, unfortunately the police officer was right - the correct P-Plates have a red background with the "P" written in white, or a green background with the "P" written in white, hence the Red/Green P-Plates. So in effect you weren't displaying the correct P-Plates, however that was pretty darn harsh of him to fine you for that. haha i was gonna say how can you afford a 33 gtr well i get my red's on thursday so thanks for letting me know:) did you lose any demerit points? No you don't loose demerit points at all even if you don't have any P-Plates showing...i got done 4 times for no P-Plates oops Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/289685-warning-to-all-p-platers/page/2/#findComment-4852226 Share on other sites
dan_the_man
This thread is finished. Due to ignorance the OP broke the law and was penalised for it. ***EDIT*** - To the OP. I'm sorry you were fined. I do care. I promise.
