yea sure dan take a gutted cat.. your car will pull so much attention im sure cops would love to bend you over each time and always get you for something

im getting a hi-flow 3" magnaflow ceramic cat installed today at PCE Performance.. quite cheap too

Hmmm pull more attention from something that is imposable to see without taking the exhaust off ?????

I've heard gutted ones before and even decat. They're not as bad as you think. Its really only when you slam the accelerator it becomes really loud.

Dan: make sure its a direct replacement to your car too. Even if its cheap, I wouldnt wanna waste time mucking around trying to get it fit.

Very easy to tell.

All they need is suspicion and they can take your car off the road for an inspection at their insp. station.

Then its up to around a $10,000 fine

Pretty sure he's talking about noise level there. But like mentioned heaps before, unless you've got a custom exhaust system, its very hard to meet the 90dB requirement anyway if you remove restriction to your system.

Easy for ppl who know modded cars . . . .

Not easy for traffic cops . . . . (or have myself and 2 mates that run gutted cats just been lucky when pulled over?)

Nothing to do with noise. It's the smell and gas flow that give them away
