Hi Guys,

I've been emailing Matt at Nistune about a group buy for NIStune solutions for RB25DET NEOs. As such, this is an EXPRESSION OF INTEREST for the below group buy. When we get 5 definites, I'll start another thread with the actual group buy.

What this group buy covers:

For $314.20 + your ECU sent to NIStune, Matt will supply and fit the Type 4 board (go to http://www.nistune.com, click the "About" link and go about 1/2 way down the page for an explanation), then post the unit back to you. This is broken down into:

$243.10 for the type 4 board (RRP $286)

+ $ 56.10 for the install (RRP $66)

+ $ 15.00 postage to get it back to you. (Total RRP is $367, so total saving is $52.80)

If you would like a copy of the NIStune tuning software as well, for this group buy, the cost has been reduced by 25% for single user licenses. This takes the $220 RRP down to $165 (total saving of $55).

All of these prices include GST. The RRP prices are listed on the NIStune website on the "Ordering" page. Note that prices on that page are not inclusive of GST.

What this group buy WILL NOT cover:

This group buy WILL NOT cover the Nissan Consult connector and wideband O2. For Consult cables, NIStune recommend PLMS Developments. If you would like an Innovate wideband O2 solution, there's a group buy currently running on Cruising Brisbane. According to the NIStune website, the Innovate LC1 is compatible with the NIStune software.

Let me know guys :P We need at least 5 people for each to make their respective prices happen. I see no reason why we can't include ER34 GTT owners in this as well (they use the same board) so i might put a link in their section soon also.

If you have any questions, please just post a reply, or pm me :P

If those goes thru im interested for my 34!!
I'm down for one for my series 2 Stag.

I've added you both as definites for ecu's :P let me know if this changes, or you want software as well :P

just a quick question. can you adjust boost pressure with the nistune or do you still need a boost controller?

as far as I know, you'll still need a separate boost controller to adjust boost levels. i'll ask around for you though :P

Edited by pyro-ns

just had a thought, i don't think you will be able to control the boost with it, as boost isn't controlled by the ecu (ie, it doesn feed it "ok, 1 psi, now 2, now 3", it just opens/closes the solenoid by grounding or opening the circuit when a particular rev-limit is hit). i'll still ask though.

haha, you know i'm in mate. for the software aswell. just need to get it done the week starting monday 19th october, thats the only time i can really have my car off the road.

and danMcd, nistune isn't available for the S1 ecu yet but there would be plenty of other options for a manual, just not as cheap as this.

haha, i was gonna pm you when i got back from Domino's, but ya beat me to it :(

hay pyro-ns whats can you do for a c34 s1 auto ecu . car is now manual??

hey mate,

nistune doesn't offer an ecu for s1 stageas i'm afriad. i was speaking to Andrew at BPS in cleveland about it (he owns an S1) and from memory he said that the S1 stag appears to be a totally unique setup where it's a 1 processor per tune kinda deal.

you'd probably be better off going for a copgyback system like an e-manage, or Jaycar's DFA with an SITC. Unfortunately, copgybacks are kind of a band-aid fix and generally lack functionality, but if you don't want a tonne of power with bigger turbo's etc, they might do the job :) if you're willing to spend the extra $$, you'd be able to hit a PowerFC or the likes, being a manual :)

i'm not a tuner btw, i'm just a regular idiot ;) so discuss that with a proper tuner before you go buying :P

edit:

anyone know why i can't edit my initial post? is it because i lack a decent post count? and why does "p i g g y " come out as copgy???!?!

you cant, there is only a 2 hour window to make changes, even if you do have a high post count. just wait for nick or another mod to read this topic and update your original post. maybe just keep posting a new list up as more people want in. and......... copgy .......... mine stuffs up too, lol.

bit gay :( might see if i can join their development team and h4x that one out while they're not looking ;) i've already pm'd goldzilla about that one too, poor bugger's gonna think i'm trying to waste his time...

i will have to organise a spare car first and need to know how long it would take? would they all have to get sent up at the same time? Dose it increase power by much or just help it run better? will i have to go get it dino tuned if i dont buy the software? so after i find out a few details i will make a decision. but really keen

whereabouts are you located mate? i'll have to factor postage into the time frame :(

yes, postage at the same time is the way it's looking at the moment. this is something we'll have to finalise with Matt when the group buy officially starts though.

This on its own won't do anything. You'll need to either purchase the related gear (consult port + wideband O2 + single user license of the NIStune software) in order to tune it yourself, or you'll have to take it to a reputable tuning workshop for them to tune it for you. NIStune has a list of accredited workshops on their NIStune -> Workshops page, but there are other workshops out there which tune without being recognised on the NIStune site (I'm pretty sure this means that they're not endorsed by NIStune though). I would recommend you contact your desired tuner(s) first and see if they will tune NIStune. They have to have a license for the software in order to tune daughterboards with it.

in terms of power/running better, series 2 stageas in their most standard form run incredibly rich in certain places on the fuel map and certain modifications can make this worse. this will result in pretty average fuel economy (amongst other things), but not only that, a leaner mixture (within reason) generally gives more power. the NIStune solution allows you to tune pretty much every aspect of the ECU. air to fuel ratio, timing, any associated fuel/speed cuts, rev limits, etc. as it is an addon for your standard ECU, it retains all of it's standard functions, such as integration with the auto box, cold start processes etc.

i hope i've got it right, haha.

Put me down for one as well.

I have been talking with Matt for a few months. I had slightly beter pricing, but K Rudd was not making anything from it.

Everyone that wants one needs to make sure their ECU has "JECS" stamped on the casing to be able to fit the draught board.

I will be ordering mine setup for 480cc injectors and Z32 set by Matt, so at least the car will run enough to get it to the tuners.

We have 5+ people. Lets get this going!

expressing interest, but have some questions:

1) if my Stag is completely stock, with no immediate plans for mods, is this still worth it?

2) how long would this take?

3) does this mean i need to unplug my ECU and then refit? (not sure how to do this, lol)

4) so if i got this done, would i go straight to a dyno for a tune, regardless of the fact the engine is stock?

sorry for my newbness

will be an S2 RS Four S ;)

cheers

1. There will be no change until you get it tuned

2. Assume 3-5 day turn around

3. Yes. Not hard. 10min job

4. You do not have to dyno tune straight away. The original factory map will remain and your car will run exactly the same as it does now.

The benefits of getting this done, even if you leave your car totally stock, will enable a tuner to remove the factory over richness which will give more power and better fuel economy.

As a minimum. I would not bother tuning a stock car until at least you have a 3" exhaust fitted. All other factory items should see the neo reach a max of 200rwkw's

My car will be off the road another 4-6 weeks. I may be able to offer up my ECU in a change over basis for people that can not have their car off the road for more than 1-2 days. Could also maybe suggest to Matt to purchase a stagea ecu for this purpose and charge a small fee to cover the ecu purchase price??
