New Battery

Hi all,

It looks like it is time to buy a new car battery,

Any suggestion team? Atm I have a calcium king battery.

I work for toyota so i have toyota batterys in mine and my gf's car, but im going to do a battery to boot conversion and im going and optima dry cell battery (red top)

Just make sure its a good brand and matches the CCA (cold cranking amps) of your current battery and u shouldnt have a problem with it

I thought mine was dead a few months back ..recharged slowly over night and no issues since. Worth a try.. Other than that, get any decent SEALED battery eg. red top optima. The more CCA's the merrier.

i reckon century batteries do their job well. 2 years guarantee or new battery. pretty good

Question... with the CCA's u shouldnt go to crazy on it should u?? Im just not 100% on it..

Im looking at geting a 500CCA red top, car is currenty running 305CCA battery.. recon this should be ok??

should be plenty as most normal batteries are around 300... you can't have too many CCA's

Unless you really need it or have money to blow go for the same CCA as whats recommended for the car.

If the car struggles at that then theres an electrical issue that needs to be fixed. As above make sure its sealed, or has a vent which allows hose attachment.

Make sure the terminals are on the correct side and are also the right size.

Just for reference my battery is 230x180x180 mm and 310CCA, in my R33s2 the pos is on the right rear.

I replaced my battery a few weeks ago. It was some lion brand with 350CCA. Went to super cheap and bought a century one with 420CCA as well as new terminals (couldn't find a battery which has got small terminals). The car runs fine now.
