f**k their power trip - maybe they can harrass one person, if every single person actually grew some balls and complained when this happened - it simply wouldnt happen anymore.

Gone are the days when driving a VP commodore meant seing a cop around every corner and hoping not for a yellow. The guy got out a measuring tape and showed this crackhead legal height, so now he has to take a day off and money for the pits...why? because some cop is headf**ked.

Agreed, that police officer shouldn't even handed out that yellow after SEEING it was legal height.

BUT

Some people who do stand up for police don't get on there so called "Hit List", they'd just know you got balls and will be willing to take things to further matters if they step out of place.

Damn straight. If a cop wants to slap a yellow on false ground - demand they give you a name, what station they're is from, and ID number before it goes on your windshield - if they are actually dumb enough to ask why, tell em you'll lodge a complaint after you pass the pits first go - trust me, Ive seen this work, they put it away pretty quickly.

PS: Havent seen you on here in a while Mandy, holidays or something ?

hey chris the first day i bought that car i got pulled over for speeding on south street near your place. The cop thought the exhaust was too low so he got out his "measurer" which was a broom stick attached toa plank of wood 10 cm high. The plank didnt touch the exhaust near the rear diff at all (the lowest part) so we both know that this car isnt too low. Its annoying for me to read but hey, it may be an excuse to see kermit :P

hahaha it's almost looking that way hey :P I will be calling some people tomorrow to see what my options for this are being that A: they ignored someone who was speeding/tailgating/high beaming people repeatedly in the space of 5kms, B: I proved that it was legal ride height.

When I took a photo of the guys plates, he said "what are you doing" taking a photo of your plates so I have more evidence to make a complaint about you "all our details will be on the paperwork" yep, I know, but still "you like fishing?" what? Don't be a smart ass mate, I know exactly where you are going with this and you can stick it. He shut up after that and got back in the car, was the other guy who was writing ticket, the one who ignored me when I showed him that it was legal, and yeah, I measured it at the lowest point at the back near the diff, it's about 110mm off the ground easy.

**facepalm** Meanwhile today I relocated the boost controller to the top of the steering column and the boost guage to the A pillar in a Greddy pod hehe, looks pretty sweet, I can see the speedo below 70kmph now without having to move my head hahah.

careful, dont be a hero..

if you decide to take the them on, u better have some serious proof, because their job is to make the road safe.. hate them as much as u do, but there is nothing wrong in what they did, they're not qualified mechanics hence why they need to send any suspicious vehicles through the pitts if they think its not road worthy. especially with hoon laws etc. anyone who owns an import with bad driving record doesnt really help aswell. u really need to have plenty of docs to back up ur case. bcoz once you try to take them on and lose, u will be, and trust me on this one, ull be on their hit list..

and im talking giving u more hassle when they see ur plates or similar cars on the road.

"they're not qualified mechanics"

no sh1t, doesnt stop them from trying to tell me about cars ie, saying how they 'own one of these' then calling a gtst a "godzzzzzzliar" pointing at an air breather and calling it a bov etc. if they cant even use a measuring tape/ruler they shouldnt be able to hand out yellow stickers. also the whole quota thing is bs, "there was no crimes so we just made some up".

p.s -u gotta hide ur boost controller n ur power fc hand controller.

Me PFC hand controller is easily disconnectable from the ecu so I can just take it off altogether. As for the boost controller are they really that strict about em? Damn. I've never had to take a car over the pits before so any info is greatly welcomed. I'm going over me engine bay with degreaser at the moment too heh

When I went over I made sure everything was fixed that was on the list.

Then I did extra just to be sure. I did leave my boost controller in however, but they didn't seem to care about that one. I had it in the section below the stereo face along with the turbo timer.

My inspector did however question me as to why I had no airbag, when I told him that it didnt come out with one standard he turned my car on and showed me the light on the dash. He failed to notice that my car was manual and that I have an aftermarket "Automatic" dash in there. I still got the sticker off on that attempt.

I think that the trick is to be nice to the inspector, dont smoke pole or anything, but understand that he is on the recieving end of every coppers bad decision.

Even mechanics can f**k up.

Blinky

You don't need an excuse to see kermit!!

That dude is the f**king master.

hahah I'm being told same more and more :3some: Just have to get the wifes approval on that one heh.

So they only really look at the stuff thats on the defect slip? Cool. I'll still be taking precautions so as they can't shaft me for other things and yeah, respect is the name of the game, they are only doing their job, just try and make it easier for them on my part.

Ive passed twice before with the boost controller on the steering column

maybe i got lucky?

So have I.

And, if it's the first pass over the pits with a fresh sticker, they will check the whole car.

P.S. PowerFC is a full standalone ECU, you might be thinking of the Commander Tom, that is the handset/controller.

Hide the hand controller in the glove box

so unless there ripping up the interior they wont see the ecu

and Yes they will go over the whole car not just whats on the list

they only time they just go over the list is on the 2nd/3rd/4th attempt to check if you've rectified problems previously picked up

    • I did a skidpan night at SMSP this week, it was much cheaper than $350. But yeah, you need to slap an LSD in that thing.  I put an OS Giken in the 370Z and it's f**king MARVELOUS even compared to Nissan's viscous LSD. So you're saying it's free now that it's a housing estate? 😂
    • Nah, the car seems to run exactly as it did prior, in saying this it does "seem" to be better down low, like more eager to rev, but that may be 100% placebo effect from intake noise But, I'm not worried about it at all, in the end it is a fairly low compression NA engine that has a well shrouded intake,  if it is getting hotter IAT I cannot notice anything negative performance wise from the seat of my pants thrashing it about on the street or sitting in traffic, so meh, car now now makes induction noise so I'm happy
    • Do you have an IAT sensor? It's worth checking it to see. You may be suprised how little gap you actually need to flood your engine with hot air. (I tape up my airbox for a reason) :p
    • @KinkstaahKrinkle paint the "silver" alloy, not the red filter frame Engine bay heat won't be a issue worth worrying about as the silver alloy blocks it off on 3 sides, as for the top, the bonnet seals most of it and the big OEM CAI intake snorkel is still fitted in its original position  I will head into Clark's Rubber when I have some time to grab some pinch weld to tidy up the alloy after I paint it As for performance, I honestly wasn't expecting any, the only reason I got it is because the intake noise sounds cool to my old ears when I'm feeding it the beans Sometimes it's the silly things you do in in life that gives the most fun, and I do love anything that makes cool car noises In other news: I survived 4 nights at sea with Jackie not throwing me over board, holidays are continuing now as we are currently chilling at the Beachcomber in Toukley, after taking the coast roads from Sydney in the MX5, top down all the way, Toukley is where I spent a good deal of my youth holidaying during the summer months, there's lots of reminiscing going on,  and lots of beaches and old houses to visit Next on the list is to head to Batemans Bay for a few days, but we will take the Commodore out to stretch its legs, then Commodore hasn't really moved for months
    • There’s probably people who’d like to do it and then when it comes to putting their hands in their pockets they’ll all disappear into the shadows
