wonder if commodores get hassled as much as imports? ...notice this one every day on my way to work....straight pipe exhaust that roars and pops so loud it wakes the dead...and the car has been lowered by what I can only think are cut springs that even the stock 15inch wheels are tucking rubber...i say its cut springs coz u can see the car bobbing around on fairly even road.

Congrats on the outcome storm

Hanaldo how did you go about getting reimbursed?

I just went to the police station with the papers from my sticker as well as a note from the inspector at the pits backing up my story, told them i had been stickered by this officer and when i went to the pits the inspector had laughed at what was on there. I said i wanted to know why i had to pay almost $100 for a perfectly legal car to be inspected, when the policemen that yellowed me had claimed themselves experts. Kicked up a huge fuss about it and demanded to speak to the officers that had given me the sticker. Waited around for them to come back from duty, and then when i questioned the guy about it he admitted that he had been wrong and was not actually aware of what was defectable. He thought my HID ballasts were a NOS system just as an example of his 'expert knowledge'. Not too mention he questioned the factory "S" badge on the bonnet, and tried to tell me that either i had put the badge on myself which he claimed is illegal, or i had an aftermarket bonnet which is also illegal :( Intelligent man...

So anyway, after all this arguing they agreed i was correct, and a few weeks later cheque arrived in the mail :P Not really sure if the money was worth all the effort, but i was more after getting one over the traffic-bullies. Tell you what, a win felt good :P

P.S. Also congrats on the outcome Storm, always good to get justice :(

It's always good to have a win, espceially when your in the right.

Well done.

What you have done there Chris just proves that if you are willing to fight it, at the end of the day you will usually win due to the fact that you were doing nothing wrong and had a perfectly roadworthy car :whistling:

lately ive actually seen alot of yellow stickers on worthy cars. bunky fiestas, holdens etc. It brings a smile to my face, unlike when i see a clean and awesome import stickered up.

yes. shame on those people who are too busy trying to make ends meet and not purposely going out of their way to break the law.

i think your being sarcastic (i hope) but ends will be harder to meet if you have an accident from crappy tyres and injure yourself and cannot work.

So, just to clarify... There's a nice inspector at Osbourne Park? :)

I've just had my third inspection for my sticker, and every time I've been, I've fixed my list up and they've decided that the previous inspector has made an error. Today I had some fat prick sit on my bonnet and jump up and down and claim that I didn't have any suspension. When I told him I could see it moving underneath him and (of course) I have suspension he just shrugged, wrote me another sticker, and said if I didn't have it off in two weeks I'd lose my number plates because I was forbidden any further extentions.....

Could seriously have cried hehe, next week will be my fourth attempt, after two sets of suspension and having adjusted one of them once. :/

^ Get your dad/mum to bring it down. Works a charm....

Did that with old R32 GTS4 - dad brought it down twice. 1st time stock suspension front right stuffed, replaced with full set of rock hard billsteins. Dad returned and same inspector passed him....

yea man commo's get hassled as well if they're slammed and loud..

most of the time its more how they see you drive the car.. and if they think you look like a dickhead i guess haha

    • I did a skidpan night at SMSP this week, it was much cheaper than $350. But yeah, you need to slap an LSD in that thing.  I put an OS Giken in the 370Z and it's f**king MARVELOUS even compared to Nissan's viscous LSD. So you're saying it's free now that it's a housing estate? 😂
    • Nah, the car seems to run exactly as it did prior, in saying this it does "seem" to be better down low, like more eager to rev, but that may be 100% placebo effect from intake noise But, I'm not worried about it at all, in the end it is a fairly low compression NA engine that has a well shrouded intake,  if it is getting hotter IAT I cannot notice anything negative performance wise from the seat of my pants thrashing it about on the street or sitting in traffic, so meh, car now now makes induction noise so I'm happy
    • Do you have an IAT sensor? It's worth checking it to see. You may be suprised how little gap you actually need to flood your engine with hot air. (I tape up my airbox for a reason) :p
    • @KinkstaahKrinkle paint the "silver" alloy, not the red filter frame Engine bay heat won't be a issue worth worrying about as the silver alloy blocks it off on 3 sides, as for the top, the bonnet seals most of it and the big OEM CAI intake snorkel is still fitted in its original position  I will head into Clark's Rubber when I have some time to grab some pinch weld to tidy up the alloy after I paint it As for performance, I honestly wasn't expecting any, the only reason I got it is because the intake noise sounds cool to my old ears when I'm feeding it the beans Sometimes it's the silly things you do in in life that gives the most fun, and I do love anything that makes cool car noises In other news: I survived 4 nights at sea with Jackie not throwing me over board, holidays are continuing now as we are currently chilling at the Beachcomber in Toukley, after taking the coast roads from Sydney in the MX5, top down all the way, Toukley is where I spent a good deal of my youth holidaying during the summer months, there's lots of reminiscing going on,  and lots of beaches and old houses to visit Next on the list is to head to Batemans Bay for a few days, but we will take the Commodore out to stretch its legs, then Commodore hasn't really moved for months
    • There’s probably people who’d like to do it and then when it comes to putting their hands in their pockets they’ll all disappear into the shadows
