On filling my Mum's car and a 'daily' I've inadvertently acquired some info that has stumped me a bit.

Naive of me or not, can someone enlighten me as to why...

1) E10 at Shell = 94RON

2) E10 at BP = 91RON

3) E10 at United = 95RON ???

Bugger if I know: I haven't asked or checked Mobil or Caltex yet.

all the ones i have seen have been around 94 or 95 ron (caltex, united and shell). don't think the BP here has e10. it could also be that they simply haven't rated it as being any higher because it is based of 91 octane fuel. i remember that when shell here first got e10 and they had it rated at 91 octane but in the fine print of all the info they had about it said that it was around 94.

I dont know why united E10 is 95....but I don't complain. the stuff is dirt cheap, even cheaper than their straight unleaded (91)

i used to run their 100RON ethanol blend when i was heading out to nissco frequently in my partners supra, my 1600 and my r31, cost less than 98 and they ran great! pity it isnt at all servo's though
