Man that sux Fane, hope you can fix it :)

Driver didnt you sell your car? or were about 2?

Almost sold it :)

I was coming home from the licencing center after getting new number plates, to hand the car over the next day.

But luck wasnt on my side..

I got witnesses saying it was her fault so that helpd a little.

shit man .. thats unlucky ... i've said it before and i'll say it again .. you just can't help bad luck!!! ... but good to see u got a good attitude ... i'm a little confused as to why ur premium wouldnt' go up since its not your fault and that you did very well to avoid the accident.

Hey fane

Sorry to here you bruized your line. My brother inlaw does some panel work and spray painting (paints planes @ janderkot and does ppls cars on the side does a F#*kin good good to) so if you let us know if you need help. You should see the 240Z he just finished.

yer i have been thinking about it and my insurance company wont be involved at all... so i shouldnt really care....i was just a bit stirred up and shaky all day couldnt really think properly...

k the video and more pictures up where i got air and where i landed are uploaded into the http://www.iinet.net.et/~robi/car/ folder.

the tire wasnt that worn before this happend i drove home about 2 kms to get home and then drove back in the old mans car to make a statement and stuff... because i was shit scared... it scared the crap outa me.... the cops were fine, they didnt even care about me they just wanted a witness about the main accident.

thanks impul i'll PM you once i have washed that side and hope its buffable...

aliance look like the first place to try i'll give them a ring today and take 1 of the rims up there...

mine are enkei racing, also 3 piece and im ring up about them today, i live in mandurah so i gotta drop them off sometime :) i ripped the front bar off last night and apparently it can get a re-resin of the back and fully re-fibreglassed and a re-spray for about $400. (my last quote as $330 but now its a bit more dented.)

i'll let you know what they say...

The front RIM is not saveable...

The guy from alliance rang today and said that the front one isnt saveable...because he cant get the middle out...

Anyone got any other places i can try? I think it might have to stay buggered....

On other news....i NEED 2 17" rims, does anyone have 2 laying around... i dont mind having 2 drift specs on the back for a short amount of time until i figure out what im going to do about the 1 that i need....

I have 3 out of the 4 set... hopefully i can find some...

But if anyone has some 17"s laying around that you dont mind me borrowing or i can throw som cash your way for them, i would be happy to throw in a carton for your trouble...

once i get some 17"s i can check all the suspension and get alignments done and the front bar glassed and resprayed....until then im dead in the water.... :)

thanks guys.. :goddam:

  • 1 month later...

So ok everyone I have some bad news.

I didn’t buy enkeis.

That’s right I didn’t buy enkeis…

I have bought some Super Advan Racing mags… the trispoke ones

http://www.vivagarage.com/performance/perf...rims/advana.jpg

Got them for $1950 inc freight and they will arrive on my doorstep Wednesday morning.

I’ll put them on Wednesday and then I’ll show everyone on the next cruise… J

These are the only trispoke mags I like and I have seen them on quite a few skylines, the sure as hell arnt rare but I got them for a good price. 17x8s front and 17x9s rear with tires with apparently decent tred on. So we shall be the judge of that… J

So there we have it… fanes mag saga solved… now to the front bar, fmic, indicators, el gauges, window lift, turbo, ecu, etc etc etc…

J

I know lots of people have these mags but who exactly have these mags from sau?

Common? you dont know the meaning of common til you've got Roh wheels on ya car

Nice looking rims Fane .... glad you finally have it all sorted and looking forward to seeing the car :O

    • I would paint match the whole thing to avoid unwanted attention  I had a similar bonnet, paint matched, on my old R33 GTST, but mine was a fibreglass jobbie made by Blitz in QLD, they work extremely well for radiator efficiency and under bonnet temps
    • Does anyone run this kit with factory plenum? Does the adapter and bosch tb fit under factory strut brace? I wanted to get this setup before going forward facing manifold. Thanks
    • small update time, after always wanting a "cool" looking bonnet for my car and always struggling to find one for the series 2 that i liked and wasn't an insane amount of money. Saw one i liked on RHDjapan from D-speed in Japan the price was very good for a carbon bonnet so good infact i was a little unsure how much i trusted it, decided to bite the bullet and with the help of jesse streeter in not long at all it was at my door. Once it was delivered i ran in from work and quickly unboxed it and to my surprise the quality was actually pretty good i quickly removed the old bonnet and placed on the new one to test it out and even the fitment wasnt too bad at all. Then decided to paint the little grille in the bonnet black to stop it sticking out so much.   I decided to not mess around with the hood latch and just install some aero catch hood pins, having never installed them before did some YouTube university classes and i was good to go. fair to say it is not a fun job at all from making brackets so the pins sit nicely and actually cutting through the bonnet but also being very scared of cutting the holes too big it took wayyyy longer than i would like to admit but finally got it there. Then it was time for a quick test drive to ensure the latches actually worked and thankfully the bonnet looked very stable. I still think paint matching the bonnet and leaving just the part that sticks up as carbon would help make it all look alot neater as im not sure how i feel about all that carbon on a very fridge white car but will leave it as is and see how i feel with time.
    • I think it's bound to happen, you finally get it all perfect, and bam, something will happen. I took a while to get a Commodore rear quarter repaired where a P Plater clipped it. Two days after getting it back, Sarah wiped it out on a concrete pillar in an underground car park... This is why I take forever to repair them, it stretches how long until it gets bent again... 😛
    • Nah, not really responsible for that little fiasco, but I'm still pissed at myself for writing off my 86, or when I reversed my VX into a pole just before selling it, but, meh, 5hit happens to stuff, all it takes is a slight distraction, and life is full of distractions, and "dooh" moments
