wonders if its the newer kit.. my friend complained his gt hdi came with alloy coated tin piping instead of proper ally a few years back. and seems to think the quality has improved overall with the bar and fin.

i paid $899 plus $35 in shipping so $934 to my door.

slimline fan arrived today hoping my gt2 goes on as easy as others! - and will i have to relocate the trans cooler?

Well i thought id pull my finger out of my arse today and get this intercooler on now that the fan has arrived..

it went on suprisingly easy and had it done in 2 hours.

the hardest part was feeding the plastic pins through the condensor and radiator to pin the new slim line condensor fan without taking the radiator off.

goes better also

did mine as well last week. kind of eager took me about two-three hours also. the bent brackets in the kit were good to hold the new thermo fan in. i didnt want to poke through the radiator core as if youve seen how thin the thing is, and it for some stupid reason it would leak, it would be like trying to find a needle in a hay stack.

some of the picks are on my profile. i was really happy with it.

worth the $800 :D

definately worth the money.. wasnt worried about the fins in the radiator as its more than tough enough to hold the weight with the condensor

Just abit of advice knowing someone else who did this.

those Zip ties expand under heat, his condenser fell out, Could be a different brand of ties(quality +/-) but I didnt wanna take the chance. I'de keep an eye on it..

dunno how his condensor fell out .. when its sitting under and behind the radiator support bracket on two sides and then the radiator on the other side and cant move. :P

the fan weighs about 200grams its pretty light. and the thick fins support it right through without it going near tube walls .. i wouldnt have done it if i didnt think it would hold.. but ill check back on it periodically ..maybe he meant the condenser fan fell off if the plastic pins melted?

that seems like a more likely scenario.. ill keep an eye on it and employ the angled brackets (if theyll reach) if it goes pear shaped

What's the performance gain from fitting one of these? Well worth the $$$?

As we run fairly high boost, yes it will make a fair difference, especially on hotter days. Worth the cash? I wouldnt bother until the exhaust and highflow is done.
