Boost Question

I have read on a few forums now that r33's in standard form boost in two stages. Apparently it is about 4-5psi until 4-4500 rpm and then 6-7 till redline. They say to get the best out of an aftermarket controller this dual stage function should first be disconected. Problem is none of the sites i have read about this explain how.

Is anyone familiar with this, and does anyone know how? They dont specify wether this is on both series 1 & 2 either.

Can anyone help shed some light on this? Cheers

yes that is correct. it is a 2 stage system and is controlled by a solenoid. there is a rather large thread on how to ground the solenoid to give you the higher boost setting all the time.

i have done this mod and found it is heaps better down low. this is partly becuase my actuator is set for 9 pound. it does cause some spike coming on so hard so early though! has not hit boost cut though....thats a good thing!
