I realies this is a very late reply, but I just noticed your old post when I was searching from something.

If you use a slide scanner it would come out mint.

Difference: a slide scanner has a light in the lid that works in sync with the optical reader, therefore it shines light from behind the image.

I bought an Epson one for $799.

Ps. If anybody knows where to find a photochop img of an indy' style wrx, I would appreciate a link. I remember it being black and a very nice job. Had indy500 style tryres. I'm not sure of the artist.
